As you all know, anime is an expensive hobby. What I am thinking we can do here is to swap/float some anime. I think it will be most cost effective on us all to use more of a float style system rather than a swap system, but I will be open to suggestions, I don't want this just to be my show I want this to be the forum and system of our entire group.

anyway, for example. I have Witch Hunter Robin, and you want to watch it. I send to you and you watch it, and then you send it to the next person in the queue for that particular item. I think this will work best as it will save us all on shipping costs. also shipping in slim jewel cases or something could save on shipping and keep box sets from getting messed up from lots of shipping and handling.

Times will of course vary, a movie or OVA could be watched in a single viewing whereas a set could take a week or more. Maybe we can come up with a guideline but try to use it as you can so the next person can enjoy it as well. The offer system can be used to keep track of who is sending what and where everything is. I'm thinking that since some anime's are highly expensive, this should be limited to Silver Star traders and up. This might not always be a requirement though and we could handle this on a case by case basis. Also to keep it fair it seems logical to say you must post a something you'd be willing to put into the system in order to request a place in the queue for items.

To keep shipping costs down and make sure everyone is getting access to titles, I'm thinking that perhaps each member could have say 2 items at a time?

We can use this forum to track what we have and who is in the queue for it next. This can of course all evolve as we get more and more ideas on how to make it better. I think I'm leaning to trying the float system as it will save so much money on shipping. rather than sending something back to me or another user and then having to send to someone else, that will save us all on shipping.

Of course it goes without saying please treat other people's possessions as good or better than you would your own. You will be responsible for the items in your care treat them kindly. keep in the cases, clean hands, etc. * smile *

indeed, once we get enough people on board and get a good library going we should all get some good enjoyment.

Maybe some form of set rules. And how those rules will be enforced. This will help encourage people who have Anime DVD's join the program.

Also I'm not to sure how you would know who damaged what if the disks travel between two people and not the owner.

I think a credit system should be set up but like you said a person can only have two items at a time. Sort of like how they do the rental system here and goozex but the credits are kept up to date by you or who ever you have help you. And these credits you have depend on how long you can borrow the item. I could probably think of more ways the credit thing could work but I think you get the idea right?

If a person has two items that belong to someone else and neither of those items has anyone in queue he/she must send those back to the owner before he/she can request any more items.

Those are just a few unorganized ideas that could probably be used if they're redone.

I think this is a Great Idea by the way. I'm kind of skeptical on downloading licensed anime so this is a great alternative to having to pay for anime sets.

These are just some suggestions, not actual rules if anyone reads this. So please don't be offended if it seems like I'm trying to apply these rules without them being agreed on.

Again the things on this list are just suggestions.

No floating pirated anime. Meaning no offering anime copied/burned. This also means no offering anime that is not distributed by the original license holder of the anime in that country.

If you're going to offer anime to loan out you must be willing to have the disks refurbished if they are damaged in the floating process. If someone accidentally scratches your disks up it might be best to have them pay for refurbishing costs. If everyone sticks to the rules and keeps everyone's items in the same condition they arrived in then there shouldn't be any problem.

So do not offer any anime you are not willing to part with or consider very valuable.

When offering anime to be put on the list, please state:

Name of the Anime
Region of the DVD(s)
If it is a Set or Collection with the number of DVD's
If you would rather lend them as a set, individually or you don't care.
Condition of each Individual DVD

In most cases the person who is requesting the item must pay for postage before the item(s) is/are shipped.

You can only have two items in possession at any given time.

You can only queue up to 3 items at a time. If you have two items in your possession then you can only have 1 item queued until you have either returned one of the items back to the original owner or send it to the next person in queue for that item.

Please treat all items you receive through this system with respect and please be gentle with them as well. You are responsible for keeping the items in the same condition they arrived in. Please be honest.

Once you get the item you requested, you must state the condition right away. Preferably the same day as when you received it. If you do not do this you will be liable if the condition of the item arrives in bad shape, or if someone you send the item to says they received it damaged. Once again Please be honest.

Thats all I can think of right now.

Also what does everyone else think about the credit system and how it should work?

Do you think everyone should have their own thread with their own list. And on the main list it has the users name with a link to their thread, number of credits, number of queue's, items in possession and ect..?

Oh and if we do come up with a set of standard rules I think we should have a mod or admin check everything over to make sure it complies with the sites rules as well. And so they could make suggestions as well.
