Hello
I am going to try this out and see what happens. So far there is only two of us, including myself, interested in talking NASCAR, but I hope more people get involved.
I will start posting the standings for ALL three series (Trucks, Nationwide, and Sprint) after this week-ends races.
Also, if we can get more GTZ users to visit this forum and get involved, then I will consider getting a Fantasy league started. This of course would not be until the beginning of next season, no sense in starting something like that in the middle of the season.

Yep...they have changed sponsors again...LOL
It is now the Sprint Cup.
And Busch changed to Nationwide, but at least the trucks remain the same (Craftsman Truck Series)

OK....there is still not a big turn-out in here...but for the few who have decided to show up, I will post the standings for ALL three series on Monday....after all the races have become official.
But I was also wondering if there is anything else you guys would like for me to post in here ?
Latest NASCAR news? Upcoming races? Track info. ?
Any ideas?

Yep, so was I. This is his 3rd. in the last 4 races, he is on a roll !!!!!!
I am going to post some more stuff all throughout the day, so keep stopping in.
I'm thinking of posting next weeks schedule....what track, what time, and so forth....maybe add some info. on each track.
Also going to find some current news stories, and post them.....so will take some time, so keep checking in here.
I will probably put all of this new stuff in separate posts, so that it does not get all clogged up.

Yep, one spot.
I seriously think the "race for the cup" will be between him and Kyle.
Edwards has 3 wins, but even with the bonus pts. for wins, he cannot catch up to Jr.
What is sealing it for Dale Jr. is the fact that he has more top 5's and top 10's than most of the other drivers (of course the exception being Kyle). |

I dont member how it all works but they reset the points anyway and the previous stats were like qualifying to compete or some crap right?
thats how my brothe explained it after the year when Gordon was way ahead but the points reset then Jimmy Johnson Won

Yes, they reset the points when "the chase" begins, BUT the top 12 drivers DO NOT loose their position.
So what ever position they have earned up to that point remains....they are just given a clean slat with points.
BUT then they add the bonus pts. for wins, which is 10 for each win. See, right now, they are NOT taking into consideration the bonus pts. for wins, that comes later during the chase.
So unfortunately (unless Jr. starts winning more), that is where Kyle will have a big advantage.
But yeah, now that I think about it.....you are right, I am thinking about the points now.....and when they are reset, than Edwards will have an advantage over Jr. as well.....crap 
Ohhhh well....that just means it will be a 3-way race between Kyle, Jr., and Carl
That should be fun to watch...LOL |

I added a new feature on the standings......the points for each driver, thought that would be a nice touch.
*sigh* I hate to admit this....but I am beginning to feel like NO ONE is going to be able to catch up to this kid (Kyle Busch)
I gotta admit....he is having a Hell-of-a year, very impressive.
Maybe Jr. is just starting to warm-up to the Hendrick camp, and maybe next season will be his to dominate. |

Holy Crap !!!! Look at the point race in the Trucks.....5 pts. between the top 3 positions, thats tight.
It's also good to see Johnny Benson on top, I remember watching him in the Sprint (Winston back than) cup, and I really liked him.
He is one of those older classy drivers, like a Mark Martin or Dale Jarret. |

I was watching TV the other day and saw a mud track race had a lot of the top drivers (Gordon, Labonte, Stewart, edwards) was only like 10 laps if I member right but was cool. I need to watch that more often

yeah, thats how those guys "cut their teeth" on racing, is by running those quick dirt tracks

will search some more after I get back from work but found a list of when they race and where if nothing else maybe you could watch it live I would imagine its pretty cheap (more so then nascar anyways)

What a crazy race, that tire situation sucked. They need to do something about that, not a good way to run a race. |

I love seeing that lead drop....Kyle running out of gas was great...I got to watch the whole race this time was really hyped up when most of the big name Chevy drivers were in the top 5.....Martin, Gordon and Johnson still made top 10 so I cant complain much I guess .....Edwards is not a favorite but anyone is better then Busch in my eyes

Yeah, but I am still afraid that it will not matter, cuz Kyle has more wins.
Until Jr. gets more wins, (butthead) Kyle will still have the advantage.
yep, it was a decent race too watch, definately better than last weeks...LOL....and yeah, allot of them ran out of gas at the end, even Jr., but he still was able to finish 12 th. |
