Welcome to my personal forum, focused on the PC/Xbox360 RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I plan to keep this forum going tho, even if this RPG loses popularity, by allowing for any general RPG discussion as well. But for now, the focus is mostly going to be on Oblivion.

SO... to start things off, tell us what character(s) you've created, and your general play style, and any impressions you have with the game so far.

My first character named Willow was a Dark Elf character custom class that had Blade, Destruction, and Stealth as primary skills. It was intended to be an all-purpose sneak/fighter/mage, but as it turned out the character didn't have much focus, so I quit playing at around level 4.

My second character, named Kudos, was a High Elf custom class "Spellsling", which focused on the bow, stealth, and magic. This character fared much better, and is still doing pretty good at level 8. I've temporarily stopped playing this character to play...

Grok, an orc Paladin. This custom class is primarily a melee fighter with restoration magic and mercantile and speechcraft. I'm still early on this one, at level 1, just having finished the starter dungeon and the dungeon right across the water from the sewer exit. So far he plays a lot different than Kudos so that's a good thing.

Hey James, I just wanted to say thanks for making your forum dedicated to Oblivion, thats awesome *yes*
It will be nice to have someplace to discuss specific things about the game, rather then just have an "Official Oblivion Discussion" topic.

*smile*

Oh no, I wasn't hatin' on your topic. Thats convenient to post simple things, but I was just stating that you can go much more in depth with discussions when you have a whole forum to use.

I mainly just wanted a place to post interesting things, also. I have a lot of information I've collected for the game and will be posting it as time permits.

Custom class Breton named Stuka. Speciallizing in Destruction, Stealth, and Blades, mostly daggers and whatnot. Haven't really focused on anthing in particular, except looting houses and shops, and when I fight enemies, hit them with a spell first, then go in for melee, back-off, spell, melee, and so on. He plays pretty well, but I've been noticing that I'm being a theif and making money a lot more than going through dungeons and exploring, so I'm not sure how he'd fair in the main quest line (haven't touched it yet!).

Am I the only hardcore player here? I've got a Breton named Bretalicus(sp?). Warrior/mage currently at level 20 (40 hours played so far). Focusing on the Mage Faction quests, with the rank of Magician. My major skills are Blade, Block, Heavy Armor, Conjuration, Restoration, Destruction, Mysticism.

I may have leveled up too fast. The random monsters in dungeons are pretty hard for me now. :/

your not alone. i'm half that and have 20+ hours into my character without really doing anything. i have not even given the amulet of kings to the guy for the first main quest. i have beaten the arena (level 10) and several dungeons (will list them later - i found a really cool one earlier). i'm finishing the side quests in this one area and then i'll do the first brotherhood quest & thieves quest. and then finally do the first part of the main quest...

I consider myself pretty "hardcore" when it comes to this game, I just take it very slowly. I'm not in a rush to get through this game at all. I've put 40 hours into my character already and I just hit level 16, haven't finished any factions or main quest. I am on the last Thieves guild mission right now.

Now, I'd like to remind you all that we're recording live, so you can't say "hell" or "crap" or anything like that!

I know I'm not hardcore in this. Don't have the time to be. I've been taking it slow as well, just doing missions here and there. I'm with the Mages, Theives, DB, and Arena guilds and I'm about halfway through each of their missions, plus a few other misc. quests. Except for Mages, as I can't seem to get a recomendation from the Bravil guild. Not sure who I'm supposed to talk to as nobody has the "Recomendation" in their conversation. *frown*

I'm taking it really slow too, partly by choice and partly by a lack of time. I also haven't given the Amulet to the guy, and probably never will! MAUAHAHHKGHSDHAKKAHAHAKA

Bravil is tricky. Have you talked to Kud-Ei yet? She's the archmagister for Bravil's guild. You're supposed to get a staff back from another guildmate.

However, you may have to do a side quest for Kud-ei first. Her friend Henantier is missing.

I started playing Tales of Symphonia again today, and I think I might take a little break from Oblivion so that I can finish up ToS. I'm like 30 hours into it, so it shouldn't keep me away from Oblivion for to long, but its such a great game I feel bad not finishing it.

I'm about level 18 now... and, finally, I seem to be getting good/valuable drops from quests and such. Up until now, I wasn't sure how I was going to buy a house. But, now, it takes me several trips to bring back stuff like Ebony Armor pieces, worth ~$1K each, from quests I'm working on.

Well, currently at lvl 20, 69 hours into it and I haven't even TOUCHED the main quest yet.

Finished Arena, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Knights of the White Stallion, Order of the Virtuous Blood, about 6 Daedric quests, 2 Master Trainer quests, and quite a few Misc. quests.

Currently working on Mages Guild (keep getting killed in the Dreamworld, so I've been putting it off) and Daedric quests. Since I'm kind of stuck in the Mages, been working mostly on Daedric quests. Currently on Azura's.

I have to sell my current set of clothes or at least put them away and start wearing something else. My character has a sneak of 100, and I enchanted a shirt, hood, pants, shoes, and amulet with Chameleon so that I'm at 100%. Now, when in sneak, I can hit any enemy for the 6x damage bonus EVERY time and they never attack back, because they can't see me. Gloom wraiths are about 3 hit kills, dread zombies are about 4, etc.

Needless to say, it is quite ridiculously easy now. Need to get rid of it, so that I don't lose interest in the game.
