I just figured it would be cool for us to kind of "archive" all of the caves and dungeons that we find. If you find something really cool then post it's general location, and maybe what kind of enemies we can expect to find, and other important details like that. It might be good to post what level you were at when you found it, since that can effect some of the stuff in the dungeons.

Actually that first dungeon that's right across the water from the sewer gate is a great dungeon. I didn't realize how great it was until the second time I played through it, because the first time I missed opening a secret door that led to a whole other section of the dungeon I had never explored before. Plus there is some great treasure for a starting character in there.

Ok, so I just found this kickass place. First of all, it's really easy, only about 7 bandits to kill, and it's only one level. I was level 11 when I just went through it. So, here's what I ended up coming out of this little dungeon with:
6 Arrows of Savage Frost valued at 129 gold a piece
Mace of Legion valued at 358 gold
War Axe of Flames valued at 834 gold
Boots of Legerity valued at 825 gold
Greaves of the Monkey valued at 608 gold
Mithril Cuirass valued at 225 gold
8 Welkynd Stones valued at 50 gold a piece
Grand Soul Gem valued at 500 gold
and about 150 gold just collected from the chests.
So thats about 4500 worth of crap for about 5 minutes worth of dungeon crawling. I am wearing all the armor though since its light armor. The boots give +6 to speed and the greaves give +8 to acrobatics. Granted I'll probably only make around 1500 or so once I sell the stuff, thats still quite nice.
So, if you're intterested in checking this place out its called Sercen I believe (the text on my tv is kinda fuzzy on the map, but I think thats what it says). It's located right off the road directly above the "M" in the word Imperial.
Have fun!

The starting point is on your map, it's call the Imperial Sewer exit, and it's in the upper right part of the imperial city island. The dungeon is across the water and its called Viverin I think.

Has anyone been to Vindasel and gotten Umbra? It's a special character with the best sword in the game. That thing is a beast. I had to sit on a rock and empty most of my entire arrow arsenal on her. "Umbra must feeeeeeeeeddddd"
Definitely worth checking out sometime. It's southwest of the Imperial City. |

How far southwest, I might check it out. Is it a two handed sword, or regular longsowrd?

Longsword. It's by the shore ahead of a bridge southwest of the imperial waterfront. |

The best sword in the game is the goldbrand then umbra because of its fire damage. You cant put down the umbra sword since its a quest item. |

So do Oblivion gates pop up at random, or is there a set amount of them?

I think there is a set amount of them. Certain ones are used for the story and are opened when the time comes for the mission, and then I think the rest are opened at random. I could be wrong though.

Nevermind, I just looked in my guide. There are 8 set gates for each of the major cities, and then once you rescue Martin gates can begin to open up randomly in lots of different places.

Yeah, I never go in them, they're boring. I think once you close them they can randomly reopen too.

well, the sigil stones are a decent reward, but it sucks because you can't have multiple enchantments on items
