Ok...here we go, we're trying a new game here, it should be ALOT of fun. Please bear with us as we try to work out the kinks, both in the rules and perhaps in the image hosting as well.
It's pretty easy and I encourage everyone to give it a try, even if you don't think you are funny, maybe someone else does!
Here is how it goes:
I will post an image, and for 48 hours (approx) you will be able to post a caption for it. After which there will be a 24 hour (approx) voting period, during which time ANYONE (wether you posted a caption or not) can vote on which they liked the best. After the 24 hour voting period the person with the most votes wins that round and can email me an image to post for the next round.
So here's a basic breakdown of the rules, which will be corrected or added to as needed:
1) There will be a 48 hour (approx.) time periode during whic you can post your caption. ALL CAPTION ENTRIES MUST BE IN RED SO AS TO STAND OUT . Refer to the EMOTICONS section of the HELP page to see how to do this.
2) Each person is allowed 1 and only 1 caption for each image, any 2nd caption will be deleted. You CAN change your caption to a new one PRIOR to the voting period, but you must remove the old one. Basically you can't have 2 captions posted at once.
3) After the 48 hour posting period, there will be a 24 hour (approx.) voting period. PLEASE VOTE BY USING THE "QUOTED REPLY" TO INDICATE THE CAPTION OF YOUR CHOICE.
4) ANYONE is eligable to vote even people that did not submit a caption. Each person gets 1 and only 1 vote, and 2nd votes will be deleted. Voting for your own caption is not allowed.
5) The winner will have 24 hours to email me a new image (which upon approval by me) will then be posted for the next round. Should I fail to get it iwthin that timeframe, I will post an image of my choice to keep things rolling. The winner will still get credit for winning a round though.
6) Any ties will be decided by random selection.
7) No negative commentary about someones caption will be tolerated. This game is about having FUN together, and not about making someone feel bad for playing.
8) Please don't get out of hand with innapropriate comments or images. It won't be TOO strict, but let's try to stay within reason, thanks. If I should deem something innapropriate I will delete it, after which you are free to post another caption in it's place.
9) Participate, as I said above, even if YOU don't think you are funny, someone else may enjoy your sense of humour. This will only really work and be fun if lots of people have fun making captions
Have fun folks, let's try to make this work and have alot of laughs!
P.S.
Chat other than the captions & votes is welcome, but will be deleted after it's been posted a while so as to keep the thread shorter and easier to load. I will have a better system soon, but for now, that's it.

Since fixr stole my thunder, I won't use my original line of thought (something like, "I've been waiting for ya, buddy boy, and I've been eatin' nuthin but berries and Ex-Lax all week"). Instead, I'll go with a lesser caption:
Next time we pull a bank job, nimrod, either we find a nice bush to stow the loot in or I get to play lookout! |

24 hours left folks...get your captions in,and encourage others to do so as well!
Don't forget, we'll need lots of votes, and ANYONE can vote even if you did not submit a caption.
P.S.
I have made a small rule amendment in the voting section, so review it carefully...

Some deers charge their enemies head first... but George likes to get down and dirty.
I was also thinking of something along the lines of "Thanks to the powers of image editing, deer hunting has been taken to a whole new level" but I decided to go with the above.

Ok...last couple of hours left before it becomes "THE VOTING PERIOD", so please get your captions in ASAP, and also read the rules on voting so you get it right
In the instance that I don't post an "OFFICIAL" post to announce VOTING PERIOD, (though I will try to do so!) consider midnight tonight GTZ time will be the switch from CAPTION ENTRY to VOTING PERIOD (again unless I post here to announce the switch first), which will then be for 24hrs.
Once I post the switch or midnight arrives, whichever comes first, all other entries will be inelidgeble this round.
Finally Ramsey & fixr...TSK TSK boys, we all know how funny you both think you are but you'll have to hold off until the rules are changed *shakes finger*.
Good luck to one & all!

IT IS NOW OFFICIALLY THE VOTING PERIOD, NO MORE CAPTIONS FOR THIS PIC. YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO SUBMIT YOUR VOTE, BY USING THE "QUOTED REPLY" BUTTON. THANK YOU, COME AGAIN...

BTW, since we need to scroll back to look at all the entries in order to vote, how about making a new topic for each round?
Barring that, how about Dodge cuts and pastes all the responses into one post of his own, so we can quote-reply and edit from that one post, instead of having to load the full topic (or use the paging system)?

Thanks for to all those voting, please encourage others to come take a look and vote as well, wether they enteredt or not, the more votes the better!
Grenadier, as for your suggestion I will likely work something out to post all the entries into one post at voting time, as opposed to starting a new thread all the time (other than beeing longer, it could also become confusing if the posts got out of order etc...) I'll figure a good way to do it thanks for the suggestion.

Ok, though we do have a tie for first place between myself and Grenadier, the OFFICIAL result is...
GRENADIER
with the ever popular:
Luckily for Bambi, he had been bitten by a radioactive spider earlier in the day.
He gets the win for 2 main reasons #1 I had one vote that barely counts since it would not have been in on time had I closed the voting more promptly (though I thank you for the vote Yav ) and #2 since i got the pleasure of posting the first pick anyways, I would have wanted to have someone else enjoy the pleasure for this round anyways. So CONGRATS Grenadier, you win in more ways than one!
Now you can either email me a pic that I will then post here (given that it passes my approval for decency ) OR if you really don't have one (though I am certain you either do already, or will happily find one on the net) I will gladly show you a few you can pick from that I have dug up when looking for the first one.
So email me with the pic or a request for a few too look at and we'll get the next round going!!
The only thing I would request for the next round is, SPREAD THE WORD! it's way more fun with more quotes, and more votes as well, so get the word out to those you know will have fun participating . Thanks again to all those that did participate & vote, as always you make this forum the fun place it always is
