I'm using Colloquy on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It's fully IRC capable as far as I know. What I would like to do if possible is have my username & password automatically sent when I connect to the GameTZ chat server. My secondary goal would be auto joining the general room.

My IRC client has an option for password in the connection settings but each time I connect to the GTZ chat server it rejects it. It wants me to type in /QUOTE PASS so the system recognizes my password. I want this to be done once and automated so I don't have to retype it each time I connect.

Any idea how I can do this? Since it's not MIRC I can poke around and find out where to enter info if you know or can describe the boxes I'm looking for. Or maybe you have a script to do this?

I am not familiar with macs or colloquy, but i can tell you this... the GTZ chat server has some quirks that are not common to other IRC servers.

First, be sure the server is gametz.com (NOT irc.gametz.com). The username is case sensitive, so be sure you have set the nick to ryanflucas (all lowercase)... passwords are case sensitive (this is normal)... channel names are case sensitive so #general is not he same as #General (we use the all lower case roomnames).

Automation would be client specific so I cant help much there.
