BOINC is a distributed computing system. It grew out of the SETI@Home project at Berkeley.
Now, BOINC is used to let people contribute spare CPU cycles to dozens of different scientific projects that are in need of number crunching.
For any BOINCers who don't know, there are GameTZ BOINC teams at just about all current BOINC projects. See my Bio page for join links, or just search on "GameTZ" when searching for teams at each project's web site.
Anyone need help using or setting up BOINC? This is the place to post.
