FPS is the death of me in video game. I get an assload of motion sickness from them, so I think I'll just stop completely. Any good non shooter game for Xbox/360?

Lost Odyssey is great if you don't mind turn based RPGs (but sad as hell). Plus the 1600 point cards are on sale right now at Target so it couldn't hurt to pick one up and check out some arcade games since some are only $5 (Contra, DD, Super Contra, Texas Hold Em, TMNT, and a few others are fun).
Does that mean no Bones + me = CoD?

Here are some non-FPS that I really like: Crackdown, Dead Rising, Def jam, Oblivion, Spiderman 3 (some people hated this though), Hitman, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Transformers. | kzn

Blue Dragon or any of the 360 rpgs, Forza 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Guitar Hero 2 and 3, Rock Band, Oblivion (though it's first person), maybe Mass Effect. Ninja Gaiden 2 when that comes out. There're also a junkload of great XBLarcade games and Original Xbox games.

Yes, but even in 3rd person with the viewing and stuff it's like 1st person. Also the 3rd person view kinda hurts the gameplay IMO.

It's not just that though, it makes it hard to select something, talk to somebody, etc.

Well, you can if you choose to put your credit card through the 360. Some people don't like it, but more importantly, it's cheaper at Target to buy the cards (this week) and you won't have points left over just sitting in your account. But yes, either way works.

I'm buying you Dramimine (sp?). I have a dog stomach and yet never have a problem. Do you have your lights too low and maybe it causes you to focus too much on the screen? Are you the 1% 'seizure guy' that forces us to endure 2 seconds of that lame screen before each Nintendo game? Can I have your stuff?

The crossed out games I haven't played, but Pete is dead on with the others. Dead Rising's save system is ATROCIOUS but if you can get past that, it's fun as hell. And Crackdown > GTA. Sorry, but it's true, somewhat, kinda, probably, most likely. Don't buy Assassin's Creed simply because there's no real replay value, but it's a greatly underrated game that should be rented.

The games you'e crossed out are very good but also my opinion. The ones he's left are pretty much praised all-around | vDub

Assassin's Creed = great to look at, but repetitive gameplay. I wouldn't call it underrated, but it's one of those games that is worth a rental.

AC is one of those games that I thought was SO sweet at the beginning when I first played it. Then after about 2 or 3 weeks of playing, I got bored and stopped playing it. I left it on my shelf for a few months until I finally traded it away figuring I would never play it again.
It's pretty much the same thing that happened with Eternal Sonata...

PLAY CRACKDOWN (I sent you that MS thing, it's $9 there!). Crackdown is similar in the sandbox style, but with super powers (i.e. strength and jumping) and not such a linear method of doings things. Yeah, you simply have to take out the bosses and whatnot, but you can jump over buildings and throw nades or simply run through the front door and mow everyone down (or throw a truck at them )

crackdown was good. I would suggest Eternal Sonata, mass effect, Marvel: UA, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2, Gears of War, Blue Dragon (although a bit easy). also, Transformers Sucks ass, I think it was pete that said it was good.

I believe Crackdown is still available for demo download if you have a hard drive. I tried it briefly, but didn't know what the heck I had to do, so I stopped. Maybe I need to give it another go based on the rave reviews above.
I have mostly FPS, but I do love the Burnout franchise and am enjoying Burnout Paradise. Rock Band is great too, but costly.
I have A LOT of trouble getting into RPGs. They're just SO popular, I keep giving them a try. I've tried some of the highest rated too: Zelda (Twilight), Final Fantasy (VII), Knights of the Old Republic, Kingdom Hearts, Fable. I don't think I care for any. I just started Fable and KOTOR, so I'll give them more of a chance, but I just don't think I like the whole genre.
I don't know if I'd consider Marvel UA an RPG (it's labeled an "Action RPG"). There's RPG elements, but that's a button masher to me.
Anyone: Is Oblivion or Mass Effect different from the RPGs I mentioned above, or are they similar?
Any games you can't get rid of?

Although Fable has RPG elements, it's much more action oriented (Love the Real time combat).
Oblivion is like a first person fable with more RPG focus and things to do. Mass Effect is like KotoR with a MUCH better real time battle system. (3rd person shooter/rpg)
I also have a hard time getting into RPGs and I love them anyway. My all time fav.s were Fable the Lost Chapters, X-Men Legends, KotoR, and Marvel UA.
If I were you I'd give Fable some more time. KotoR, however, doesn't really change. (other than in story)

I guess it takes getting used to it, but it was frustrating in KotoR to let the system fight. I kept wanting to hit the button more, but you could only store up 3 hits at a time. I think I would prefer a real time combat system. | Smaug317

Same with me. KotoR with Mass Effect's battle system would be the bestest game evah.

Maybe if you listened to the mission briefing... it's really pretty obvious. You kill gang bosses - get stronger - etc.

I'm not sure if you're a Star Wars fan or not, but I am a Star Wars nut and absolutely loved the Lego Star Wars games. They last a long time and are just mindless fun. Plus, they can act as a primer for the Indiana Jones and Batman Lego games coming out.

Yeah, it was telling me to get something, and an icon was on the map, I went to where it was, but couldn't find what they were talking about. I'll have to retry and listen more closely I guess. It does seem like a unique game for the 360.
I too am looking for other genres of games, not because I don't like FPS or get dizzy, but because I'm terrible against the people online, and there's just so many (and they seem to be getting more and more similar). Quake wars does seem a little different. From what I saw, it's more about team strategy than being a great shooter (maybe that's the kind of game I need ).
And speaking of strategy, does anyone else feel that there's not enough communication in team games when playing online. I just think there should be more strategy than just running up and shooting as many people as you can before dying???
This is definitely a good topic, keep up the suggestions for non-FPSs.

i definetly agree, nobody EVER talks unless your with a 'clan' or just a group of friends, and half the time they are just loud obnoxious pricks screaming. there is a game mode (in CoD 4) that is more strategy, i dont remember the name of it though
edit- i think its called team tactical. so oyu might wanna try it out | | |
