The first one was good, for the short time it took to play through it, then it got repetitive. |

After a play through on the first one.. it was just totally boring; VS and all modes.
It's just a multiplayer zombie game that came out at the right time. So much better stuff could come from it.

From what I've seen theres not enough of an upgrade from L4D to warrant a purchase, and would it kill Valve to add a few new animations, everything moves the exact same in the gameplay footage I saw. |

Whoa, outside of this thread I don't think I've ever read anyone say something negative about L4D. |

Valve recycles the same product for success.. and everyone eats it up. I must say though, I'm guilty of doing the same thing for other games (see Dynasty Warriors), but I'm just not impressed.
Anyone who has played a healthy dose of user-created mods on most Valve games have seen variants of it already. I didn't like how they spoke so highly of their engine when it's intention was to attack people from an angle they couldn't protect from -- no matter where they were. At least change it up sometimes..

Because outside of this thread there are far too many fanboys that saying one thing bad would cause such a crapstorm it's not worth posting. As for L4D2, I'll probably buy it and give it a couple playthroughs but it is a pretty simple game that gets boring pretty fast, you can only play so much multiplayer before it gets too repetitive,, and that's coming from someone who has 400+ hours logged into COD4 |

I for one enjoyed it and has logged more hours with it then CoD4 Multiplayer. It just has this appeal to me.. ah zombie killing.

I thought the first one sucked. Zombies just standing around until you get close, limited weapons although the pipe bomb is badass, and it's also too easy. |

I think thats Half Life / Counter Strike.
But COD4 is cool to I guess.. I just like L4D more.
