I know I'm a few years late but today I joined Xbox Live. Upon joining I was awarded a free month of Gold service, so I'm trying to get my online game on. In other words - right now I suck.
I don't have a hard drive so I can't download much. I was also very surprised that I could even play online given my poor internet service, but it's worked great.
My GamerTag is ffgameman. I'll probably be messing with these games a bit today:
Call of Duty 4 (already played a few matches)
Gears of War
Battlefield BC
Team Fortress
Maybe PGR 4 or Burnout Paradise.

Team Fortress 2 is great for someone new to online gaming. It was one of my first experiences on XBox Live - easy to pick up and learn yet addictive as hell. |

Halo 3 has a lot of awesome options for online. Left 4 dead is built around it. |

Having fun with CoD 4 right now. I tried TF 2 but I had a hard time getting into a match. |

I would like to get Halo 3 one of these days. I've played the campaign on co-op all the way through with a friend (offline)....I've just spent way too much lately to get a new game right now.

Lol.
I'm actually getting better as I'm finding better setups I like.
