So who's picking it up today? :D

I'm thinking about it...I think I will wait for a video to pop up on youtube before I make my decision. $7 is a lot for a single extra campaign but then again paying $60 for it when it first came out was quite a lot. The argument for myself is I still played the hell out of it and it was worth every penny. I'm sure $7 will get me my $7 worth of play time and then some :D

Same here, I think $7 is a lot for one map...I'm hoping they don't do this crap with L4D 2, take forever to put up new maps

I think I read somewhere on Youtube this is not a full 5 chapter campaign...only 2 chapters...WTF?

*edit*
Yep two chapters. Apparently this was made to make shorter Versus games.

The 800 points was an error. If you want to buy this hold off until they fix it. It will be 560 points or 540.

Umm ok? So it'll still be $7...no change there

Yeah ok. I didn't realise people where complaining about the 540 price point and thought they where complaining about it being 800 points.

Don't blame this on Valve, they stated several times that MS was at the front of this (hence why it's free for PC users)

I don't think price is an issue. I've grown accustom to it being a console gamer. Then again I also wait for deals on Microsoft points so this pack set me back not much.

That being said...this pack has 2 chapters and runs quite well as a versus map but lackluster even on Expert if just going at the campaign w/ 3 friends. $7 bucks is not much considering you will most likely play this 100 times over and enjoy each and every playthrough.

A lot more side alleys and it breaks up the flow quite well. I like that about this one but the 2 chapter limit is just kind of "meh it's over?" kind of feeling. That happens the initial play through but then the subsequent playthroughs are more and more enjoyable and Versus certainly is entertaining on this map.

It comes down to is your $7 worth it for a new somewhat interesting campaign for L4D. Do you really play L4D that much? If you do this should be a no brainer. If you play it and enjoy it, it's worth it. If you are a cheapass and bought the game for $12 at Target clearance anyway...whats $7 more dollars? :D

It's certainly fun. If anyone else picked it up shoot me a message. Like all Valve games the added achievements are very fun and interesting. You can easily get some of the more difficult campaign ones like no one get barfed on since it is only 2 levels :D

You can also think of it this way for all you gamerscore whores :D ...XBLA typically $10 and 200 Gamerscore. L4D update $7 and 250 Gamerscore.

Eh, the pack is ok. I play L4D all the time and wouldn't mind paying for more maps, but 2? Versus barely lasts, as most teams end up quitting before 1 is even completed. Campaign and Survival I never play, nor do my friends. All in all, would've been nice if it was at least a 5 map campaign, then I would feel much better about it. Oh well, Valve has supported the 360 version of L4D like crap anyway, I should have expected this.

I can understand when there is expensive content like $5 a plane or a skin or something. But is $7 really so much? Really? $7 for a new gametype/mode whatever and it's a lot? I don't know about you but I don't value $7 that high...

It's a lot compared to what other games give you...I mean look at gears for $10 you get more than 1 playable map...for $20 you get all maps and an extra campaign...Red Faction,Call of Duty, and so on...basically those games give us more for $3 more, yet this is $7 for a "new campaign" which is only 2 chapters long, not much you get for $7...to me it's not worth it due to the fact that I play versus a lot and 2 chapters isn't enough for me, but for somebody else it's totally worth it

Valve's 1st DLC pack, which was free (this is 360 btw, I know PC version has alot of user mods and stuff, so I'm talking console only):

They released, for free, the 2 levels for Versus mode that were already enabled for Campaign. Game came with 4 campaign maps, and only 2 of them playable on Versus. Already an incomplete game which took them over 6 months to release the other 2 maps just for Versus (and big deal, Survival mode that puts a timer and zombies running at you).

Their 2nd dlc pack, which took what, another 4-6 months to come out (1st one in March ish, 2nd one Sept): A new campaign! Great! Oh wait, it's 2 stages compared to every other campaign being 5. Great. So not only did it take almost 11 months to get original content finally (adding 2 maps to versus when they're already in campaign and should have been versus from the beginning doesn't count), they half ass it with 2 rounds instead of 5 like all the others.

$7 isn't alot, but when it's $7 for 2 rounds of gameplay compared to 5 rounds for every other map, it matters. If they gave 2 new maps for 5 rounds each, thats a great $7. Hell, if Crash Course was 5 rounds alone, $7 would be worth it. The DLC comes out to a 15 minute Versus map with 2 rounds, hardly worth $7, especially when it comes out a month before L4D2, it just looks even more like something to cash in on. That's all I'm saying. Like mentioned above, in Halo 3 or something, you pay 800 MSP, you get 3-5 maps at least per pack. 40% of a map(2 rounds out of the normal 5) is just lame.

Yeah it is a lot compared to other things. Just like everything else in the world. It's up to people to decide if they want to spend the points on that or get something else for their points or money. Look at Halo Wars. Not sure if you know what kind of DLC that thing has... it has a DLC that is just new game types.. no new content except game types... and they are charging a full 800 points... $10 for something that in other games they give away for free! They even have a second DLC which is the same price and comes with new maps! So yeah value is based on what people want and are willing to pay. If they think one mode isn't worth $7 and they can get better content or better value for themselves then they should go get that content instead. Just like everything else, DLC isn't equal value across the board. Just like XBLA arcade games.
