Usually your xbox will be fine for a couple weeks then stop working again. I did the x-clamp thing and it stopped working after like 2 weeks.

Yeah, if you follow Frank's method your newly repaired system won't break (as often). But all of your old favorite 360 exclusives won't work anymore and 90% of the multiplatform games will now be slightly inferior in one way or another (mostly choppy frame rates or less detailed textures).

Crackdown 2 looks like it's going to be the shiznit and APB looks promising as well.

I have a better repair kit choice. It only cost $199. You buy it and do the same thing. Stick it where your 360 was. Only you have to take your HDD off the 360 and hook it up to this repair kit. This repair kit is superior to yours because it still lets you play all your 360 games not forcing you to have to go get all your games again. It really is the better choice for repair kits. It's cheaper, and lets you continue to use your existing library of games and it comes with another 3 years warranty. Much better choice. :)

How many times have you returned yours? I've returned 360s twice to them. I'm waiting till they just give me a new one.
I've had 4 go back. The first one took a long time to die. The rest dropped like flies.
I replaced my final one with a red elite from the Resident Evil bundle. It's got about 2 hours of play on it now because I'm just afraid of killing the thing at this point.

Not fanboyish at all. If his 360 is broken obviously the better repair kit would be to get another 360. As getting a PS3 isn't really repairing his situation is it? He wouldn't be able to play any of his games right? So that is why I stated it like that. If he had a PS3 and it broke then I wouldn't have "Suggested" getting a 360 as a "Repair kit".

If you have an elite. Install your games then play them. Saves lots of wear on the system and if your playing off the HDD you greatly reduce the chance of a RRoD.

And yup. I actually loaded my Ghostbusters onto it the other day. Thing is quiet as can be with it installed. Going to have to try that with more games. Not sure what to get next though that I'd actually play. Maybe Prototype.

But buying another 360 wouldn't be a repair kit... it's more like prolonging the inevitable .

Definitely prevents wear on the disc drive, but still prone to RRoD. The heat created by the disc drive is very small, especially when compared to the heat created by the CPU and GPU... thus has no viable effects in regards to RRoD. So yeah, don't think it matter where you run your games from in regards to preventing RRoD.

Where are your facts on this? Because I don't know about your 360 but all 360's I've used have had A LOT more heat when using the Disc Drive. You can even hear the Fans kicking on because of it. Go play a game installed and feel the back. Then go play a game not installed and feel the back of the system. Big difference. You can claim all you want that the Disc Drive doesn't make a lot of heat compared to the CPU or GPU. I can feel with my own hands which one generates more external heat.

Better then replacing his whole library of 360 games just to go out and get them for PS3.
He can just trade his 360 games here , ther are crap exclusives for 360 < Halo? is anyone really still playing this crap, this opposed to LBP, Infamous, GOW3, Resistance 1 +2, and countless others. Youll never go wrong with a ps3 and new for $299 is a steal. Dont throw even more money down the drain by buying another crap box. Man up and get the best

ah you kids still think the ps3 has more exclusives. If you love your ps3 so much why do u have to come in the 360 forum? All of you lil ice cream man fanboys are just as annoying as Jehoba's witnesses, trying to convert people to believe in your bullcrap instead of being concerned with your own entertainment salvation
