I'm getting the Call of Duty 360 and as a result will be selling my current xbox. The guy I'm selling it to wants to make the exchange on the Friday before CoD come out. So there will be a few days where I dont have an xbox. My question is, is there a way to transfer data from my current HDD to my PC or other storage device, then transfer that data to my new HDD on the 10th?

you can get a transfer kit on ebay that will allow that. It's not an official microsoft product, but it will do that for you. I don't know if MS can tell or not that you transfered through your pc.

You can also open the hard drive enclosure ,connect the hard drive through a sata connection to your pc, and use Xplorer 360 to dump the contents to your PC. Then load it all back onto the new drive.

I'm not tech savvy enough to open up the 360. williamsdm1111, do you have a link to the transfer kit youre talking about? I searched on ebay, but they all seem to be the same.

It's the 360 harddrive, it already pops off of the system. Torx screwdriver takes it apart in 5 seconds

That's the same thing as the transfer kit used to copy data from hdd to hdd. If that works and you only need some sort of sortware you download for it then I'd just borrow the cable itself from someone. My disc for it is cracked so if you need that then I can't help. But if you only need that cable that connects to the PC and the hard drive. I still have mine. If you can google some stuff and find something out let me know and you can borrow the cable no problem.
