So I got my hands on the pre-order release of the new toolset for NWN2 and I'm already very impressed.

Here's the interface. Pretty slick. Took me awhile to get used to it after knowing my way around the old toolset, but pretty easy to find your way around
and it's got alot more functionality than the old toolset:


One of the cool new things about the interface is how you can have a preview of placeables right on the side (in the old toolset there was
a pop-up window type thing you had to invoke to get a preview:


Mountains! No more blocky land masses. The terrain tool actually paints smooth hills now. Still trying to learn how to make hills climbable though. *raspberry*
They have a much more organic look and feel to them now:


The water effects are impressive as well. But I doubt this pic can convey that very clearly:


And here's a couple shots of the same tree. I tried to catch it and the grass blowing in the wind. Not sure how well it came out. heh



And if my thought-dreams could be seen
