Think in a few days once I have gunmen i will start to save for my 5th colony. Only real limiting factor in my growth has been lack of marble so having a 2nd marble colony would be VERY valuable.
At my current projections it would take about 2 weeks of marble gathering just to get the marble needed and i still need to upgrade my warehouse a few more levels. I'll keep you all updated and let you know how crazy it is lol. |

Yeah, colony 4 is killing me. I'm waiting on the palace upgrade to finish now. The crappy part is having to also update the others to keep corruption down. How much wine are you giving out right now?

104 wine an hour atm. Only producing 90 an hour but that will be raised soon and i'm able to buy enough to supplement it. |

3 lvl 9 taverns and a lvl 6 tavern here. Then again my town halls are all lvl 15 except for crystal island which is 12 |

| | #7 posted May 27, 2008 at 4:24pm (EDT) |
9-11-11-7 taverns for 15-14-14-12 town halls, respectively. I have the happiness bonus and a museum in my capital, so I don't have as large a tavern. I also am not currently serving the max wine at either level 11 tavern since I've almost capped my population. Now that my final governor's residence is being expanded to level 3, I'll be saving to expand all my town halls.
I don't see myself approaching a fifth colony in the near future.

Yeah it might be pre-emptive but i figuire i'll see how it works out with the 5th colony. Worst case it will take me less then 10 days to gather resources i need. Already have enough wood.
I'm at 15-15-16-12 and near max occupancy on all town halls. Been keeping my growth rate at a steady ~2 people an hour for most of my towns |

Should also add I got most of my barracks up to lvl 14 so i can build gunmen soon. |

Right now i'm keeping my residences at lvl 2. Max 9% corruption is fine since it will take a while to increase to that level. I figuire by the time corruption starts to increase I will have a 2nd marble colony which will help with the upgrades |

Helps when I can set up trades for 4500 marble like i did today. That should cover the upgrades to my warehouse so i can hold resources to expand. Guess i can start stockpiling in 2-3 days when my warehouse is high enough |

| | #13 posted May 28, 2008 at 9:41am (EDT) |
Gonna take a few more days before i even start to save. Going to get my museums up to lvl 4 in each town to reduce my need for booze since atm production can't meet demand. This will let me start stockpiling |

I'm tweaking my defenses. Increased my income by 600 an hour by de-commisioning some ships i had that i didn't need. Kept 1 ship per city since if they want to attack me they will need to blockade first costing them more money and make it not worthwhile. Plus my ground troops will inflict massive damage to them. |

F my 5th colony for now. Its 40k marble to go from lvl 17 to 18 warehouse. Hello pillaging soon |
mentalpowers

| | #17 posted May 28, 2008 at 1:03pm (EDT) |
You should only need to upgrade your warehouse to level 16, which costs 4.5k marble. It's still expensive, but far more reasonable than 40k.

Need lvl 18 warehouse according to boards, i'm gonna try to verifiy that |

I was just going by the help files which list the costs and capacities of each building. Maybe those aren't up to date, though.

Looks like its lvl 15 with my researches that reduce building costs, i'm probably just an idiot. lol.
Anyways 1 more level to go for my warehouse then I can start saving. Whats messed up is wine will be hardest thing to get since i use all mine up. Will have to buy some. |
mentalpowers

| | #21 posted May 28, 2008 at 1:23pm (EDT) |
Are you sure it's level 15 for all your resources? I noticed that level 15 is all that's needed for wood, but the marble capacity comes up just short. I have the 8% reduction in building cost researched, too.

Thats what they said on boards, i'll find out tomorow. Either way i have the resources to upgrade to lvl 15 and 16 so its not a big deal. |

what ship did you use?

Cheapest one. Basically as long as you have 1 ship in harbor they must blockade you or else their fleet of 1.000,000 troops will be turned away. Unless they are on same island
Also its lvl 15 warehouse. Help file doesnt reflect the 1000 wood and 300 luxury resources the town hall can store. |
mentalpowers

| | #25 posted May 28, 2008 at 1:52pm (EDT) |
Nice. I didn't realize that the town hall held some resources too.
Would they actually have to blockade you for long? Couldn't they send one ship to destroy yours, then attack?
 |
brian9824
| | #26 posted May 28, 2008 at 1:57pm (EDT) |
Yeah but they would also need to spy on me to realize how many ships I have in defense. I'm not a big raider now and i'll have my hideouts the same level as town hall when i start raiding bigtime so that will be a tough prospect.

I'm going back to my plans for expansion to 2nd marble colony. Should be able to expand by friday at the latest at my current projections.
If anyone has any marble or wine for trade let me know. I can offer wood or sulfur |

Scratch wine. Got 4k on the market so really all i need is another 10k marble and 5k crystal and I can upgrade. Worst case i can gather it in 2 days |

grats son probably be a while til i'm up there with ya. just started raiding people.
which i actually have a question about. if i raid on my own island do i need to send ships with them to pillage the resources or how exact does the pillaging of resources work?

Just got my largest raid off an inactive. 12 ships of items
1242 wood
720 wine
296 marble
69 crystal
161 sulfur
Gonna farm this guy like crazy now.
Also just attack them and have ships available when battle ends to carry loot. Its based off the size of their trading port and number of resources they have |

I've started building up my warehouse(s) and saving for a fifth colony. It'll likely take a while though since marble is pretty scarce around me.
My largest raid was 19 ships I think. I've already exhausted the newly inactives that I was raiding before.

Definitely. My other colonies seem to be bringing in enough goods. Marble is still a bit of a struggle. Prices for it shot up to 60 or 70g per marble around me the last couple days.
