Absolutely I'm a person who likes to buy crap all the time. I suggested adding all the current groups to the main thread, so we'd know if there was already an existing group. You totally sound like someone I'd be in one of these groups with * grin *

I would likely join a group for all the new stuff from here on out, but if old stuff was being tossed in there I might not because I already have quite a bit of stuff. If it's exclusively for new stuff though, you might as well count me in. * grin *

A group that works on new stuff would actually work pretty well I think.

AFultz - not sure what people are comfortable with for a monthly limit. Anyone have suggestions based on how much stuff you actually want coming out monthly?

Another thing to think about is how frequent, every other week? Once a month? Every week?

edit: I'm thinking maybe every other week would work well. Every week would be almost too frequent (trying to collect money weekly especially). For a dollar limit, I don't really care about that at all. Even if all 5 people picked $20-$30 games (which really can't happen more then once), total still would only be around $15ea. On average I can't see it going over $10. So make that twice a month.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how much or how many games to get every pop (2 games bi weekly, or everyone picks one every time, etc). Just to establish some sort of ballpark figure so folks know what to expect.

i'm down for a consistent group. perhaps some basic ruleset to decide what to get? for example, if we have 5 people in the group, at least 4 want it?

i have a lot of the older stuff, but there's lots of newer and tba stuff that i want.

I'll throw this out there: I'm dying to get Crash Commando and Lumines. Both are fairly new so I'm hoping many of you haven't gotten them already. In January I am DEFINITELY going to be getting Noby Noby Boy.

I think 2 games bi-weekly should be plenty, especially considering that some weeks only 1 PSN game comes out anyway. There might be weeks when we are all able to agree on an older game as well as a newer one.

Does anyone else want to get Crash Commando and Lumines? I'm thinking this Thursday night we can get those two, and then every other Thursday night from then on we can download 2 more? (Thursday is the day PSN typically gets updated, and usually around 6PM is what I've found).

I should mention that I'm not going to be able to be downloading the games themselves since I get taxed on PSN stuff, but I am totally down for a frequent group.

Ok, one more question before we get this going, if someone leaves the group, can you simply change the password on the account and continue to use the account with a new member? I'm not sure how easy it'd be to handle rotation, someone may start off with it but situations change and they may need to pull out.

As far as running it, I can do it. NM isn't taxed and I get those lower paypal fees (go America?).

I would be just fine with those 2 games as well. Hadn't really thought of Lumines just because I already have it on XBLA but it's cheap, I'll try it for PSN.

Yeah the password can be changed at any time, so if anyone wants to bail out, we could just send a password change notice to everyone in the group.

It looks like we're getting enough interest for 2 groups in here already. How should we handle this then? Like, the first 5 people who expressed definite interest would form a group, then the next 5? *shrug*

I don't think you can replace a new member... once they log in with their PS3, that counts as one of the 5 that can have access.

I could be wrong, but I think that's how it is.

Sorry, had to edit the post, made an error.

Outrage, that's how it should work, it will take it off. I just wasn't sure if it was a concern to remove access or not so the person can't jump in and nab it (I'm new to gamesharing, not sure what folks do...lol).

No it would work. The only thing is that once a person leaves the group, they're going to have a hard time re-downloading games if they ever need to. Any new games that get added to the group since they've departed wouldn't be able to be downloaded by them anyway, since the 5 slots would already be used up.

It might even work on sort of an honour system where if someone leaves, the password doesn't change but they just agree to not mess with any of the new stuff being downloaded (since it would be fairly obvious that they are downloading new stuff anyway, once a current member notices that he can't download what he just paid for). As likewise, any new users agree to only download with they've paid for, and not any of the past stuff (which likely wouldn't be able to be downloaded anyway, but...yeah).

Actually now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure if someone were to leave they would have to de-activate their PS3 from the account itself, which would disable any of the games they've already downloaded.

This could be tricky.

I think the only way to make sure nothing goes wrong would be to just make a new PSN account if someone decides to leave.

There are probably answers to our questions out there somewhere but I'm just too lazy to look them up right now. If anyone finds anything, let me know and I'll add a sticky.

Are you sure about this?

In one of my earlier groups, somebody didn't want a particular game so they didn't download it. I figured I could give it to somebody else, but it wouldn't let them download it.

That could be a bit hard. I guess we could always add in the requirement that you need to be sure you can stick with it for a while. If we change occasionally it shouldn't be a big deal but if we're rotating members every month or so, that would defeat the purpose of a group.

AFultz075 wasn't included since there wasn't interest past the initial question.

If someone doesn't confirm, Rawkus has it.

First games we'll get are Crash Commando and Lumines unless there's objections on that. We could fire it up by Thursday.

Awesome. Once we get the group finalized, we can start our own topic to discuss what games we'll be getting. I think we're pretty much final on the 2 games bi-weekly thing, right? And that it will mostly be new games unless we can all agree on an older game?

Yeah, or if the majority do want a game some of us have, just keep it to 1 being a game nobody has, and 1 a game some have or something, that way everyone at least gets 1 new game and isn't stuck with 0 new games in a period or something * yes *

PSN Games

- LocoRoco Cocoreccho!
- Mortal Kombat II
- Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - Revenge of the Plague Lord (rather large want actually)
- Super Stardust HD
- Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer

PSOne Games
- Castlevania Chronicles
- Jumping Flash!
- Tekken 2

Honestly, are you going to confer with those other people from the MKII group. Even if it is just one person, are you just going to run all over them?

What is up with this permanent commit group too? I mean, the whole purpose of this forum was to get more people involved in the gamesharing process. If you do this, that's just less oppurtunities for any newcomers to the forum. Not very friendly, I'd say!

Yeah, I suppose you can just say... "Well, why can't they organize it themselves?" And it is this overwhelming greed that gets us into trouble. Hai guise. I see that we all already committed to a specific something something, but how about we go ahead and add game "M" to the mix. It'll only cost you a small pitance more..

People are more likely to agree with the addition, if only for the fact that they are inthe backseat position forefronted by the obstacles of their peer counterparts. This, my fellows, is what leads to drug abuse. Do you wanna be that drug abuser, SIR?

I'm down for any of those except Wipeout, just got Wipeout HD so no real need for the PSOne version. I'd like to add MK2, Penny Arcade 1 and 2, and Tekken 5.

iced, out of those I already have Calling All Cars, Flow PSP, LocoRoco, Puzzle Quest (XBLA), Super Stardust, Solder X, and Wipeout. They're all pretty good (well, except flow, that was only a bit entertaining at first just because of the style).

I have no problem adding in MKII, I'm not a big fan of the series but it's cheap.

monk, I think there's still a good chance for folks to get new stuff, even if there is a group. The 16 profile limit is the concern. I have 3 profile's now (me, wife, J-account). I'm already part of 2 other groups as well. 11 more opportunities to gameshare isn't much. I'm sure there's some with even less then that. If you want a long-term gameshare opportunity, you need to condense what you can. Now if someone is able to come up with a work-around for the profile issue, then obviously being tied to a group would be a worse situation.
