i got a linksys wireless router and i'm trying to figure out how to get my ps3 online. i did a connection test and it said something about the security settings on the wireless LAN. can someone help me with this? i'm totally new to wireless stuff as far as gaming and internet go.

What's the PS3 model? You on a network through your comp? You'll prob need the wep key if so.

i got past that a minute ago, now it says the key information exchange has timed out. i'm using a 60gb on a wireless connection through my pc.

biggest probs I had were being sure I had the correct wep key... log on to your router and check that... or, just log on to your router and disable wireless security (how close are your neighbors?) be sure the ps3 is relatively close to the host cpu or router also.... and not smashed against the wall etc.

Xena, it took me forever to figure out my PS3 on my wireless router. Wish ya the best of luck. I can't even remember wht I did now though.

i have a linksys router as well, and mine pretty much set itself up. all i really had to do was hit x a few times.

i had to log onto the router and tweak the security stuff to get mine up... i can ecall the wep key being a problem because there are 2different types of weps... and each box needs to be using the same thing. or disable the security.
