Just got an email from Netflix, that the disc to enable Netflix streaming on the PS3 is in the mail! |

You have to request the disc. http://www.netflix.com/InstantStreamingDisc
We have a Roku upstairs, and a PS3 downstairs. We were considering getting another Roku, but the PS3 will be great (hopefully). |

It's odd that you need a disc. I wonder what's on it.
Our TiVo can do Netflix, but I've never used Netflix, I'm too cheap. |

The disk is to just connect to their streaming software, like the 360. PSN has just not put the software in the XMB(?) yet.

Last I read, software wasn't coming until late 2010 actually. I think it was on kotaku, I'll look around

Played with a little tonight. Works well. Wish it would start up faster. Other than that, no issues. The UI looks similar to the Roku UI, which is cool. I like it a lot better than the 360 interface. Can't wait till it comes built into the XMB. |

getting mine tomorrow.
the disc is to get around MS's exclusivity deal with netflix. integration next year, as stated, once the exclusivity period is over. whoever worked on the contract for MS should be fired given such an easy workaround. hah. |

awesome. i'm really digging it. i like the basic interface (though their is room for improvement) and i did some quick testing - very fast buffering, very high quality (at least on my connection).
will be even better when they do the firmware update and i don't have to put a disc in.
i keep my queue full (movies i'm at least semi-interested in at some point) at close to 500 at all times, and of those, over 100 (114 i think) are available for instant watching. lots of great movies. totally satisfied with the selection. |
