I turned on my Turbo Express for the first time in over a month, and now it suddenly stopped reading any games. I just get a black screen (a lit black screen though, so the screen does turn on) but no picture shows up and no sound.
Connector stop working or what? Any ideas?

Hey Frank, here's a couple questions:
- does the sound still work?
- does adjusting the brightness level do anything?
- have you tried multiple games?
I really doubt it's the connector. It's most likely something internal that just gave out from sadness since you haven't played it in over a month.

Sound I can't tell, because it I can't get anything to register at all. Adjusting the brightness does nothing. I tried 4 games.

K, have you tried the headphone jack too? I'll need you to check that. Try pressing all the buttons and whatnot in an attempt to start a game even if you can't see the screen.

OK Will do. First thing I gotta do is get some headphones, so I'll test this out in the morning (which means 1PM) after I head to the store and get them cheap ass headphones.
We'll get to the bottom of this noise.

Let me know about the headphone sound when you get the chance. Another question: what's your power source? Batteries or an AC adapter?

AC adapter is my power source. And I just got some headphones, and there's sound. So there's sound, but no image on the screen. Just black (but lit)

Ok. Now we have a start. Sounds like you have two problems. One is the usual Express audio issue of working from the headphone jack but not the regular speaker. That's a pretty easy fix. The screen could be one of several issues. Could be a bad connection or part failure. I'll do some research and see what I can come up with...

Alright!
Hey if you know whats up I'll pay you to fix this. Is it easier than fixing a duo? Cause if this worked (especially the sound issue) that'd be AWESOME.

Yep, I'm ready to roll. Express units are not hard to fix as long as you know what's wrong. I'll have to wait till I get the unit to know the exact specs on the parts I'll need: it will take a little time due to ordering parts and what not but the work will be done in a day.

Sweet, I'll definitely want that service done to mine.
Also can your magic fingers switch mod the Turbo Grafx? I'd really like to be able to play my PC Engine Hu Cards.
I could probably send the Turbo Express to you in a couple weeks during my next home time if you have time to fix it.

Ha ha ha. Thanks Frank, I try
Pug - Is both the video and the audio shot on the Express or just one or the other? I wasn't sure what you meant there. I can do a TG region switch as well, but it will be a little bit. Still finishing up some jobs for Forgotten Freshness right now in my free time and have a few other things too.
If I don't send you a message after about a week, go ahead and shoot me one and we'll work something out

Ryan,
Yeah both are shot in the TE, and I've been wanting to get my TG switch moded for a while so that'll be cool.
I will probably be out on the road for another 2 1/2 weeks or so, but I can send them to you after that along with whatever you charge for the service and parts.
