Haven't played it on guitar yet but I played on medium drums when I first started and it was tough for me.

I can beat it on drums on hard.
Yet to beat is on expert on guitar. It's serious freakin impossible. That second solo is ridiculous.

It's so much harder than any other guitar song. It took me a long time to get past it.
Using the rock band guitar w/ the special solo keys *really* helps. Practice the second solo as much as you can stand; it really does help.
One nice tip I found from scorehero was for the zig-zags: They're obviously really hard to play, but you can flail through it with some right-hand tapping, at least enough to keep your meter up. When it's going GRYRGRYRGRY, keep your left index finger held down on green, and tap your left middle finger on either red or yellow, while you tap the other note w/ your right index finger. Since you don't need to strum at all, this method can hit you a fair % of the notes in those zig-zags. |

Yeah, pretty much exactly what Clockwork said.
It's tough on a song like that when you play for like 5 minutes really well, and then at 90% you fail out.
If you have a full star power meter going into the tough part of the 2nd solo, you're usually alright though.

Use the advantage of the guitar neck having all the buttons right next to each other and just run your finger back and forth across the three buttons and strum whenever you miss one. |

I don't have any trouble beating it on expert drums, but I still haven't beaten it on expert guitar yet (though it's been a while since I tried).
Also, expert bass on this song is surprisingly hard/fun.

84% is the farthest i get on expert, I can almost fc on it on hard.,..........but y`know its on hard, this song, ride the lightning, shockwave and constant motion are the only songs i cant complete on expert so far |
