Anyone know if you can use a microphone designed for PlayStation, on the 360? I was wondering because it says that it will accept any USB compatible microphone, so since both are USB, I was curious to know if anyone has tried using a PlayStation mic on the 360 Rock Band?

If no one knows, then I'll give it a shot this weekend, and let you know either way. I have the 360 mic, I just didn't want to open it if I didn't have to, because I have 2 Logitech PlayStation 2 mics that worked with Rock Band on the PS2.

Mics should work. The guitars definitely don't, I'm positive on that.

I have another question: while playing online, I was not able to hear the other person singing in the Tug of War and Song Score Duel modes; is that the way the game was designed, or is this an option that would need to be changed if I want to hear the singer instead of the artist/cover artist?

If that is the way it is in those modes, is it also the way it is if we're playing as a multiplayer band online; that they wouldn't hear me singing, but the artist/cover artist?

Thanks again,
Rob

Because of bandwidth issues, you don't hear another person singing online, you just get the lyrics across the top of the screen. There's a bit of lag through voice chat, which is immediately obvious if you ever have a guitar player or drummer singing along to the song online with you. *smile*

I guess it saves bandwidth and embarrassment *smile*

If you really want to show off your vocals, you can hold down R or L on the controller and you can sing away. I would say just be aware of the lag in the game. In a lot of games, I've noticed that there isn't any lag, so I'll sing away with R held down.

Of course, everyone is like WAH WOO WEE WAH.

I will confirm, ABSOLUTELY.

I bought the Vantage mic, noted to be exclusively for PS2 and PS3, and it worked fine on the 360. All the Logitech mics seem to use the same USB drivers and architecture.

Anybody doing Tug of War or Score Duel on Microphone on XBox Live? I'm having a lot of trouble matchmaking on this (Ranked Match). Is that because most people are dueling on instruments and not singing or because I'm trying to compete on Easy or Medium? I guess it could also be the time. Last night, around 11:00 pm EST, there seemed to be an increase in matches, but most nights, nothing!

I was also very unlucky with the song choices. Almost all songs I've either never heard, or heard once or twice before *frown*

I would assume it's because most people aren't singing. I'm sure the time of day has something to do with it, as well. Also, it depends on what level you're singing on, as well. I'm sure there's more people on certain difficulties than others. I got the 20 wins and 5 win streak for Score Duel, and 5 win streak on Tug of War already. Still working on the 20 wins for Tug of War. I wish there was a way to see how many I have won.

I would like to attempt those achievements, but I get so sick of people dissconnecting when they're losing.

Most people don't disconnect on drums. I usually do it on Hard though, and I've never had somebody quit on Expert. And if I'm ever absolutely destroying them, I usually miss a note on purpose just to make them think they have a chance so they won't quit.

I notice a lot of people disconnecting also, but because there's so few people on, they end up with me again. However, last night, I think they were dropping off because they demolished me, and they actually wanted some competition *smile* I'd like to stick with Easy for now, but nobody seems to be singing at that level, so I had to go to Medium.

I actually got a 5 win streak on Tug of War (easy level), and I had no idea. I actually don't care for the multiplayer interface on Rock Band. Why do you have to join and choose a rocker every time!? That's so annoying. It should save that and just go back to hit quick match.

Great game though, and I will keep at it. I definitely need to get into the other instruments (I have them all), but I like to sing to give my hands a rest.

Yeah, that's the best. That's how I got the 5 in a row on both the SD and the ToW. I played the same guy that I was clearly better than 5 times in a row, and he was cool enough not to ever quit.

Considering quitting counts as a loss if you do it, I still think you should get a win if somebody quits on you...

And GH makes you pick a rocker every time, as well. I'm not really sure why it does that though...

Happy Birthday to Me

I randomly met up with this chick in band quickplay the other day and she was singing. She held down R so we could hear her sing. WOW.... possibly the worst singer I've ever heard. I wouldn't even really call it singing. It was pretty funny though cause I made her sing Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld.

LOL. Couldn't believe when I heard that one for the 1st time. Can't believe they have that kind of crap on Rock Band! Most of those bonus tracks are weird, but one I fell in love with is Flyleaf's I'm So Sick

This is Paramore playing live and it literally sounds exactly like the album version. That's so sick. (Hayley doesn't look as hot as normal in this though *frown* ) They need this song in the game though. Or Hallelujah.
