Welcome to the team. *smile*

So I guess the question is, does anyone not want to do this challenge?

Hammer, I don't think so, otherwise RULost would not have said we have 1 too many members. And the main page on the General GTZ Survivor thread still has you as a member of our team.

SECOND CHALLENGE

Each person is to write an entry on why they should be elected GTZ President/Owner. It may be as short or as long as each person wishes. In it, you need to persuade the reader as to why they should vote for you and what you would do for the GTZ site if elected. A PANEL of judges will choose which entry they like best. The person with the best entry will win immunity for themselves and their tribe... as well as have a decision to make...

A couple of rules

1) You cannot personally identify yourself in the piece. If you put anything that can make the reader go "Hey, XYZ wrote this!" you will be disqualified.
2) No foul language.
3) Use proper grammar, please

And remember... the winner will NOT be chosen on what they say they would do for the site... the winner will be chosen based on how persuasive of an argument they make for themselves and how creative they are.

Also, Portal... You have one extra team member. This means one person on your tribe MAY NOT submit an entry. I need to know who you choose to sit out this challenge.

These need to be turned in Wednesday January 23, 2008, at midnight PST. They will then be passed to the judges, who will hopefully give me their decisions by Thursday. The results will be revealed LIVE in chat and tribal council will follow immediately.

All entries may be e-mailed or PMed through the site to Raging or myself

What I don't really get about this challenge is why our team is being penalized by having to remove a player? What's the real point of winning Challenges if we're just going to get reduced to their level anyway? It's not our fault Valve sucks at flags. *raspberry*

How about this idea. If Outrage wants to be in this he should get to because he probably did the most work on last challenge. He could get automatic placement into this challenge. And then he could go to this site:
http://www.random.org/lists/

And key in the list of players (sans Outrage):

Hammer
Y2k
Gooseberry
virtuadept
Nick_Danger
dopeheathen
BuzzMcTroit

And then he'd click the Randomize button and it will reorder the list. He would then take a screen shot of the page. Whoever is on bottom has to sit out. Here's a sample of what it looks like:

[full]

He's kind of on the honor system since obviously he could do it until whoever he wanted was on bottom. Or we could get someone with no stake in it to do it, but trying to find someone on GTZ who has absolutely no interest in this would be hard. I suppose we could each pick a color of our choosing, and give the list of colors to a third party who does not know which color belongs to which person, and have them randomly determine the list order. They don't even have to know that the last color on the list is who we're benching.

I'd be fine with sitting this one out, if need be. I sorta suck at creative writing. But, if somebody else really wants to sit out, I'll participate.

Its kind of weird that someone has to sit out of this one. Its an immunity challenge, so everyone should get to participate.

Well if Outrage is ok with it, I'd feel pretty good about him sitting out since he was key on the last challenge, and unlikely he would be voted out anyway. Basically as far as I'm concerned he'd have immunity if we had to go to Tribal anyway, but maybe everyone else doesn't think that. *wry smile*

That way whoever we end up having to kick (if we have to) can't say it was because we forced them not to participate.

This may be premature, because someone may not end up doing one even if their intention is to do so. I guess maybe everyone should at least work on it and if it comes down to the last minute and someone doesn't have one, we'd want everyone else to pitch in regardless of what we decide.

1) You cannot personally identify yourself in the piece. If you put anything that can make the reader go "Hey, XYZ wrote this!" you will be disqualified.

There is this rule to keep there from being bias. If someone revealed who they were, a judge may or may not choose that person just because of who they were even if they had the best entry.

2) No foul language.

This one is because it is supposed to be of a professional nature. Sorry.

As far as the person sitting out... that may actually be thrown out on later challenges. I have not decided

I will follow the rules, I'm just not sure how to go about #1 without letting out some type of hint. Also, I think it's a contradiction. You wrote:

So are we gonna be judged on what we would do for the site or how persuasive an argument we make for ourselves and how creative we are? Or am I misunderstanding the post?

Soo... the second challenge is due tonight. Who isn't going to write one? Some of you guys are asking to sit out... which I don't really understand. Don't you want a chance at immunity? If we end up losing, it's not going to look good for you if you didn't even wanna try...

Yeah, as far am I'm concerned, the only person that was "allowed" to sit out is Justin, because he did 90% of the work on the last challenge. For the others who just didn't write one..... on the chopping block

Why not just try and do it earlier in the day? Or just gather and post the results without everyone having to meet in chat. Because no matter what time you pick I'm sure there will be 2 or 3 people that miss it anyway.

As long as Valve wins loses you can have it Friday night so I don't have to vote. *grin*

Optionally I can give RULost my vote in absentia tomorrow afternoon if we lost?

I just can not be here Friday, it's Kim's birthday, and we're going to a comedy show.
