I've been using the Ubuntu 7.10 Beta (Gutsy Gibbon) for a while at work. It kicks butt! Anyone else try it yet?

I'm doing a clean reinstall right now. At first I had kept my home partition in tact, but I was having a couple small issues that I wanted to try to resolve.

The Good:

1. My Broadcom Wireless worked flawlessly after enabling it in the Restricted Manager dialog.
2. After enabling the ATI closed drivers and installing xsession-xgl, Desktop Effects worked flawlessly.
3. The new wallpaper is sexy.

The Bad:

1. For some reason I don't have, nor can I add, the user switcher or search bar to my panels. It isn't just those, really any applet isn't working. This is my primary reason for the re-install.

2. The initial loading screen is gone (Ubuntu with the progress bar). Staring at a blank screen makes the wait seem MUCH longer.

Oh, the reinstall solved the panel problem. I was able -- after quite a bit of searching -- to find the solution to the loading screen problem as well.

Now I feel like I have the snazziest OS out there.

What is the best new feature of Gusty Gibbon? I am still using the last 64bit release.

My favorite added features:

- Better restricted driver support (for my wireless)
- Compiz-Fusion built in!
- I really like the new Appearance Manager.

Bad: The stupid taskbar search was nerfed.
