The Official "Give Away Your Free Stuff" Thread
"Another man's trash is another man's treasure"

Rules
Bronze Star is required when requesting free stuff from another user. This'll show you are a dedicated GTZ member that deserves freebies.
Do not request more than 2-3 items from the same giver, this'll allow other users to have a chance at the freebies.
Givers are required to post what the item will cost to ship. They are also encouraged not to over-shoot the shipping costs for profit.
Givers are required to edit there post once an item is given away, thus keeping this thread alive with updates.
All shipping costs are to be paid through PayPal. This'll allow a speedy transaction & instant success.
If PayPal is not available, request assistance and I'm sure someone with PayPal will work out a deal for you.
Be generous. Add a couple of bucks to the giver if you are able to, there time and consideration to help you is priceless.
If you have any questions or concerns about how this work, feel free to post here or contact me directly.
Before you can receive something free, you must make a post of your own of free stuff to give away.
Failure to follow any of these rules will result in a ban from this forum.
No "Calling" items I.E you can't say "I call the next stuff he posts
No selling or trading items you receive free. If you are caught doing this, you will be banned from the forum.
NEW RULE: Send your own offers people. Post what you requested in the forum and send your own damn offer. Why should the person offering freebies do the extra work? This rule is really more of a suggestion but come on *raspberry*

Some items of what is considered 'freebies' that'll be easy to ship would be the following, but not limited to:
Cheap, old video games
Game Demos
Music CDs
Trading Cards
Paperback Comics & Magazines

So, with all those things in mind, post away! Givers should post what they have available & their shipping costs requested, while other users should place requests of freebies they are interested in/looking for. As always, be generous and courteous to all community members & happy trading!
Thanks to Emoryarts for the markup.

Ive never seen that ^ rule applied. Alot of the time you go into a thread and someone gobbles up everything in one swoop.

I don't see that it does have to be that way. Let those who are interested post and let the person giving the stuff away decide who they want to give their stuff to by their own rules.

I'm only bringing this up so that Yamas might reconsider his rules. I personally don't have any problem giving my stuff away to a new user, a user without a star, or someone who hasn't posted their own list. I have given several things away on this site and will continue to do so with or without this forum. I don't see the need for people being turned away without the consent of the person doing the giving. It should be up to them who they want to give their free items to, end of story.

While I agree with all these rules, I think it should be up to the person whose giving the stuff away how much he gives to any single person.

But, that's just my oppinion.

Well guys, here's my reason for the rules. I hate seeing someone come in, and snag a bunch of stuff that other users also want. If no one else wants it, by all means take it all. One example is Corona's broken PS2 and Xbox, some people jumped in real fast and tried to claim them both but he decided to do a random post at a later time. Also (though I won't mention names) it seemed like some people would just lurk this forum and grab the good stuff quickly. I could make the rules more like suggested guidelines. The only one I would want to enforce is the fact that you must give before you can take.

Personally, I like Yamas rules. Like we said, his rules his forum. It's not fair, AT ALL, for hot items to be snagged by users with no stars/trades. That'll degrade the overall quality of the site as more people find out about it. Plus, a lot of this stuff is worth something, and most could actually use this stuff. But someone could also profit by lurking and grabbing the stuff to resell for profit. I don't know, I just really like Josh's rules the way they are.

As do I. I just don't think there should be a universal limit. For things like boxes/manuals I don't see a problem with shipping 15+ to one person. However, with games/guides/etc I could certainly understand that.

By all means, please give preference to people with stars when multiple people are interested in your stuff. No one is making anyone send to any random person if they don't want to. I just don't think it's right to not allow others to give things to new people when there are no other takers.

Hmm Notillian. That was the my main idea. If no one cares, then give it to whoever you want. But if other people want it, this is my preference list: Those who have given stuff (now mandatory to receive anything)>People with the Bronze Star or higher (posting time among this group)>Noobs who haven't donated. This means that say some noob gave some stuff away and belladonna comes in and requests something but hasn't posted anything of his own, the noob gets it because he gave stuff.

It's cool. I hate that fact to. I guess I'll just try to keep it bumped. If I see a request without posting, I'll just post a friendly reminder. The thing I hate is when people ignore my reminders. That's when I'm tempted to lug out the banhammer.

Quick thought (and maybe this has been discussed elsewhere, but its really hard to keep up with this forum!) could you ask people who list to put a basic description of whats in the list in the topic header? Instead of "dwf's free stuff" I could say "a ds game, random playstation stuff." It would be easy to update each time the user posted new stuff. . .
