Battalion Wars 2: Nintendo Power has re-confirmed the multiplayer co-op mode. It was mentioned previously by the developers, Kuju Entertainment, that this feature will be playable in split-screen, LAN and online modes.
Soul Calibur Legends: This Wii edition of the Soul series will be implementing the motion sensitivity of the Wii controller. Players will be able to swing, stab, parry and even power up with the controller. Characters from previous Soul Calibur games will be returning, as well as an addition of some new characters.
Soul Calibur Legends is being developed by Namco Dream Team, which is made up of Jin Okubo (director of Soul Calibur II and III), Tetsuya Akatsuka (Lead Game Designer of Soul Calibur III, and Game System Director of Soul Calibur II), as well as various people from the development teams of Tekken and Ace Combat. This dream team will be making their best attempts to bring fantastic visuals, and promise that the game will be playable in 16:9 with 60 frames per second. |

I'm kind of looking forward to Soul Calibur Legends, but I'm going to wait to see how it turns out.

RockStar is bringing their Table Tennis game to the Wii this fall. I wish they'd have done it sooner, it would have been a good launch title.

New Wii Channel coming at the end of September: "Check Mii Out Channel"
By launching this new channel, Nintendo aims to expand on the global Mii phenomenon, and the two main parts of the free offering will be an area where players can post their own Miis, allowing the community to vote on their abilities; and then contests, where Nintendo will put the call out for Miis based on celebrities, and other themes. |

I turned off the WiiConnect24 feature because my Wii gets hot when it's on stand-by mode. Does that happen to anyone else?

Yeah, it stays warm, but Nintendo has said that its only running on the very minimum requirements to keep WiiConnect24 going and that it won't hurt the system.
So far I haven't heard of anything bad every coming from it. |

Demiurge Studios and Gearbox Software have announced that their upcoming Wii shooter, Brothers in Arms: Double Time, will include both Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood, two titles which had previously never seen the light of day on a Nintendo console. |

2K Sports announced today that its PAM Development studio in Paris is working alongside 2K Shanghai to bring Top Spin Tennis to the Nintendo Wii. Top Spin Tennis will utilize the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to create a comprehensive motion-based tennis experience, with the Nunchuk tasked with player movement and aiming and the Wii Remote charged with handling the actual swings of the racquet, as well as the spin and power of the shot. |

Sounds cool. Did anyone see the gameplay trailer for Table Tennis? Granted, of course, it doesn't look as good as the Xbox 360 version but its still damn impressive.

I got Boogie to try it out and it's not that bad but not great. I'd give it 6/10. It has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it's nothing like DDR -- maybe I was expecting a bit more from the game. |

I got Metroid Prime 3: Corruption today. It's awesome. Been playng about 6 hours today and i've been completely engrossed in it the entire time. So many cool featuers and the aiming is so so good. I love ripping their shields off with the nuncuk and blasting them in the head with missles .... and the story is more mission based and higher paced action which makes it a bit more enjoyable than the Gamecube ones.
A definite must buy if you've got the Wii. Easy controls make this game a lot more enjoyable than some other Wii games I've purchased. They seemingly put a lot of effort into that part of it.

I'll be renting it either way since I haven't tried the PS2 version. |

Nintendo confirmed rumors yesterday that the Zapper peripheral will also come bundled with software called Link's Crossbow Training, which is the "perfect demonstration of the way the Wii Zapper could be used in other games." The software will focus on Link within the world of his latest title on the Wii and GameCube, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, where he must make his way "through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship." |

For anyone that didn't know about this already, last week Nintendo showed their newest wrist straps that will be shipping with all new consoles and Remotes. I've never had a problem with even the first wrist straps that came with the system but I ordered 4 free replacements just to be safe. |
