I'm looking into a rechargeable system for my wii mote batteries - what are you all using? Regular rechargeable batteries, after market stations? etc?

I just recently switched to using some NiMH rechargeable batteries. I had been using just regular throw-away batteries before that (which really wasn't so bad... I only had to change them a couple times in 9 months). |

I've had to change mine a bit more frequently maybe from the actions in Mario Party or Wii Sports? I am thinking of going with rechargable batteries, but these options are getting good reviews, and seem more convenient:
kit - downside is the color choice
station -downside is one more thing on my tv stand

I have one and it works great. Just place them back on the charger when you're done.

Which one, the station linked above?

Yeah. The first link is the rechargeable battery for it. The station itself comes with two rechargeable battery packs with covers.

Cool - thanks. Worth the $ then? They make a stand charger for the DS, as well?

I have the second one (station). I love it. Worth the $ (bought it used at gamestop for $20 ). I have a third controller, so I bought an extra battery for it at gamestop.

Yeah worth the money. The DS stand chargers really aren't that worth it since the DS already has a rechargeable battery inside.

I just picked up a set of Sanyo Eneloop low-discharge rechargeable batteries from Costco. It's a pretty good deal - 1 charger, 8 AAs, 4 AAAs, 2 C adapters, 2 D adapters, hard carrying case for $25.99. Eneloops have gotten great reviews so I'm excited about it.
I thought about the Nyko charging station which a lot of people seem to like, but I'm really not such a fan of Nyko. Plus, now I don't have to buy recharge kits for my 360 controllers or Guitar Hero wireless guitar,, always a plus.

I'm probably going to get a Nyko wireless sensor bar. I hear it increases the range. We sit a little farther from the Wii than is recommended. |

Same here. If I sit directly in front of my TV on my couch, then I'm good, but we sit so far away that anyone to the left or right of me on my couch has sensor issues.

I just threw away a bunch of dead AAs the other day out of my controllers, happy to be replacing them with Eneloops. Just need a couple extra AAs for all the random controllers lying around. It's funny how I used to think wireless controllers were pointless and wasteful, now I don't think I could go back to wired.
Did you guys end up getting the wireless sensor bar? I'm still suspicious of Nyko but looks like they're putting out some decent stuff these days... their Perfect Shot gun (handgun-style Zapper replacement) got pretty rave reviews, and I've been eyeing the Blue Wave PS3 remote too. |

No I don't need a wireless bar. But I may get one of their wireless nunchuks when they're released if they work just as well as Nintendo's. Just just for me (I need a forth nunchuk anyway).

Just got four AA enloops and a charger today, but I'm gonna use them for my sons digital kids camera. That sucker takes four AA batteries, and my son uses the video feature on the camera all the time, so he's been going through four batteries a week since Christmas.

I have the Nyko sensor bar. ....an interesting thing to note about the sensor bar is that it's actually just 2 infraread LEDs. It doesn't have any sensors in it. Those are in the wiimote controller. So, the "sensor bar" is actually a really trivial thing that would be hard for anyone to screw up, even Nyko. The big advantage of the Nyko is that it runs on batteries, you can put it closer to where you use the wiimotes.
I'm also assuming the Nyko's LEDs are stronger, and thus give you better range, but it's hard to prove that. We've been doing better since we started using it, so it probably does extend range. Though, another thing we've been doing is turning off a light over my wife's head that was causing interference (on the Wii mote calibration screen it added extra dots, which is bad). |

I've heard that you can actually set a candle on each end of your television and it will work like a sensor bar.

I used my GameCube wavebird controller when I played Ocarina of Time (N64) over the virtual console. I was going to get a classic controller, but someone here told me I could just us my GC controller, and they were right. |

I was just going to use my wavebird and pass on the classic controller. That all changed when I played Super Mario World and Contra III. A lot of those SNES games are nearly impossible for me to play with a gamecube controller, due to the button placement. The classic controller is a must for me.

It was a little weird playing Ocarina of time on a GC controller, at first. The buttons were not the same as the game indicated on the screen. But, I got used to it. |
