I was playing puzzle quest and just today, God of War, and noticed two times where there was some slowdown. I always thought it was weird to have in a game like puzzle quest, but in occured to me that it might be because I load them to my memory stick and play them there.
Does anyone else notice this? Or is the slowdown just part of the games? I'm using a 4GB Sandisk card. |

I really cant say, Ive never had a slowdown from a PSP game. But since you are using your Memory Stick to load the game, Its quite possible the problem lays there. But I dont think loading from a Memory Stick is a problem at all, Ive heard its actually better, so it could be a defect in the card itself. I really cant say because I dont know much about this tech stuff nor have I had the problem before. So maybe someone else here might have the answers for you.

Again - old thread, but I just came across it
Apparently, CSO files can have slowdown due to the compression of the file, whereas a true image like an ISO runs smoother.

Did not know that. I've been using cso's ever since ZeldaCubeGamer mentioned them a couple months ago, and I don't think I"ve experienced any issues (but I could see how compression could cause an issue). I love the fact that you can fit much more on a stick when compressed, so I'd be willing to take the chance as long as the slowdown wasn't excessive.. For Medal Of Honor 2, it went from 1.1 GB all the way down to 350 MB !!!

I have a 4GB stick so I only use isos. Then I set the clockspeed to 333mHz so there's no slowdown at all. |

I have a 4GB also but I started using CSO's not knowing about the slowdown. and
Although I have the speed up to 333, I still had slowdown on God of War CSO (although I admit, I haven't played the ISO yet ) |

Apparently the games you NEED to compress (ie LARGE ISO's) are the ones that lag the most as CSO's, according to some of the threads I've read. |

I'm using PSP ISO compressor 1.4, I can convert CSO to ISO with this and was able to fix God of War. There is no more slowdown once converted. |

Wait it converts a CSO to an ISO? I didn't know it goes that direction...pretty cool though |

Yeah, I always figured that once converted it couldn't be brought back to an ISO but this program does it. |

there are also some games if you compress they wont work at all...I messed around with alot of games to make them smaller so far the best I got is 20MB (Luxor) between removing pad / dummy files and compressing its nice how much they shrink....The best thing to do is keep a copy in ISO form on your computer until you have fully tested the CSO backup.
