I have a couple of questions about this -
1. What is the 1.50 Kernel REALLY used for? Emus run on the 3.90M33 I believe, and the PSX titles run on the hardware AFAIK. What types of things would the 1.50 on the phats be running exactly? True homebrew stuff like a PSP Word processing program or something?
2. Is anyone using the PSP Slim Time Machine? How well does it work? Is it hard to use? Do you have to choose from different firmwares when it's being used in order to run certain homebrew apps?
3. Is anyone NOT satisfied with the CFW scene on the Slim PSP? Is the phat PSP alot better in this regard? I just sprung for a Slim PSP (I love how it feels and looks), but I want to be sure all of my quality EMU's and PSX titles still run great.
4. Is it true the SNES EMU runs alot better on the Slim? Is it because of the extra cache? |

Personally I want a psp phat for homebrew only. I've got a slim now and even know eLoader runs a lot of 1.5 games but not all... I think DA needs to get butt moving and give us 1.5 kernel for psp slim!!! lol |

from psp-hacks
The Time Machine reboot function should now be fixed … stupid error I made. Note that the functions only made for use with NAND firmware and 150_340 one, with the TM files provided in this archive. If you want to use it with another firmware than 150_340, you will have to edit your firmware files manually to add the cfe_vsh.prx and cfe_game.prx plugins (TM/fw/pspbtcnf.txt and TM/fw/pspbtcnf_game.txt).
Fixed some little bugs in the music player, and found the reason why it was not working for all the people. If the psp hang while loading the music menu, you should apply the dark_alex 3.71 fatmsmod.prx patch, it should fix all the problem’s.

TimeMachine v0.1 Released
greg | February 15, 2008
Not only does Dark_AleX hold the PSP championship belt of awesomeness, he probably has your girlfriend washing out her panties in his reverse engineered Maytag. Hitting hard yet again with a fresh new release — TimeMachine v0.1.
Similar to BOOSTER’s DevHook; TimeMachine loads previous official/custom firmwares off the memory stick using a Pandora battery and custom IPLs.
The timemachine is useful to run software that is not supported anymore, and also as a way of booting psp’s even if the internal firmware is destroyed. It can also be useful for developers to test their homebrew in different firmwares.
The packaged readme details the available installation options, usage, known problems and considerations; I strongly encourage you to read that over before you begin.
Find all the necessary firmwares here (official), and here (custom).
TimeMachine v0.1 currently supports the following:
Original 1.50 — can only be loaded on the phat
1.50 with some 3.40 hw modules — can be loaded on both, phat and slim
3.40 OE — can only be loaded on phat
3.60 M33 — can only be loaded on slim
Other firmwares are said to be added in the future.

Ahhhhh...I didn't realize that.
Also, it sounds like you need to reload the 1.50 kernel using a pandora EVERY TIME you boot the PSP into 1.50? That sucks...
hopefully people continue to translate most 1.50 homebrew apps so they run on M33 CFW (I guess some people have done that already with some programs). |
