Well, I am a 90s nostalgia nerd who lives in the past, so of course I play Klax. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to play my Sega Genesis, then watch a Pauly Shore film, listen to some grunge music, and then access Usenet with a dial-up connection to argue about Ross Perot.
Good day to you sir.

Space Harrier 2 is on the Genesis. You could be going to play that for all we know

I've explained this many times.
It is no longer the '90s, so there is no more time for Klax.
If you don't understand that, then you obviously haven't played enough Klax and shouldn't be defending it.

I probably played more Klax since it was put on those Midway compilation discs than I ever played in arcades

It has been a long time since I played through Snatcher. And I disliked it immensely after I had finished, to the point where I sold the game shortly thereafter.
It was poorly written, had bad voice acting, and knowing what you're supposed to do, but being forced to visit every area and go through every possible branch of search or dialogue just to be able to move on to the next is not my idea of a good time.
To top it all off, there was almost no gameplay to speak of, and you're never in any danger at all except for three or four shooting segments that were easier than your average whac-a-mole game for children.
Snatcher isn't a bad game... it's a NON-game.
If I played it today, maybe I'd feel differently about it - I've enjoyed the Phoenix Wright games for what they were, and I could certainly give Snatcher a second chance... but certainly not going to bother at its current price point.

Complaining about the lack of danger in Snatcher is like complaining about the lack of puzzle-solving in Contra. Totally misses the game and the genre.

I can't enjoy games like GTA anymore because they don't let me leap from the ground to the top of a high building, then jump halfway across the map, then grab a car that transforms into a high speed bulldozer with guns on crack.

I'm well aware of the point of games like Snatcher. However, with a plot like the one in Snatcher, you'd think things would be a bit more dangerous.
Your critique of my lack of enthusiasm towards snatcher still doesn't address the underlying issues with the game's fundamental mechanics.
It is labeled a "digital comic". Then why is it so tedious to turn the proverbial page? I'd get more enjoyment out of it if it were an actual comic or perhaps an anime. As it is, it's just not a whole heck of a lot of fun, and certainly not worth anywhere near the price people are paying for it.

Castlevania: SotN-10/10-Its a lot harder if your not running through it with the crissagrim(sp?) like I did last time. I love this game. Played it on the PSP via Dracula X Chronicles, but I think I am going to buy it via PSN so I dont get that nasty disc-loading sound from my PSP.

I think I'll like GTA IV more then Crackdown, but Crackdown is still a fantabulous game.
I just love GTA for the cut scenes and the humor, plus the cities just feel more alive. Crackdown was great for crazy antics, but the story was barely there (which is fine) and the citizens and stuff were all boring. Even the cities were pretty "meh" on the ground level. |
