This game is great and everything but it has so many bugs. The multiplayer is so buggy that I get disconnected sometimes from it. I think they rushed this crap. Does anyone else agree? |

I don't think a 10 means perfection, even though most people say it is, but no game can be perfect, its not possible. I think the 10 means that it is pretty much as close to perfect as you can get. Just IMO though.

I think even in the IGN review they say that a 10 doesn't mean perfection.
Yeah, the multiplayer is pretty bad right now, but I'm betting they will patch it at some time. |

me too. Though they should have set up the multiplayer differently. They should have done matchmaking like call of duty 4.

Many reviews that gave it a perfect score pointed out flaws. I don't understand it either. Personally, when I see flaws, I dock a game points on my personal scale, but that's just me.

This game is so incredibly average it blows my mind. Glitches/bugs everywhere, broken gameplay mechanics, barely above average graphics.
I'm so disappointed and so disgusted with the fact that this game is considered as high and holy as it is. Please tell me it gets about 3000x better after the first couple dull hours. The only thing (person) that I'm enjoying so far is Roman. |

Halo 3 has secured that title until the end of time. Or at least until they make a Halo 4.

Plus Halo actually put effort into their multiplayer, GTA's is simply broken. There's no way around it, if you're going to bundle the game with MP, then do it right or don't do it at all (i.e. Bioshock).
Most of the game itself is surprisingly broken too. I'm having fun with it and all, but EVERY day I'm coming across a glitch of some sorts. And we're not just talking stupid things, we're talking lazy things. This isn't the PS1 era, I shouldn't be able to see through a building because I'm leaning against the wall, I shouldn't be driving and have a car suddenly and literally form underneath my car, and worse, I shouldn't be driving around just for the ground to suddenly disappear and be replaced by large blocks of gray - and these problems aren't only in MP.
I think they realized they couldn't push it back again so they put it out...unfinished. Regardless of what a 10 'means', this is the ultimate proof of a name buying reviews. If the cover said Saints Row 2 instead of GTA there's no chance in hell it would be averaging higher than an 8-8.5

thats weird, I haven't experienced any glitches like that except a little pop-in but all the reviews mention that. I agree with you about the MP . I'm sure they'll release a patches to improve it though.

Yeah, but the reviews also mention the terrible camera, the so-so controls, etc and yet they still give it a 10
The ground that turns into gray blocks problem mainly happens (only happened thrice thusfar) on the highways for whatever reason. I'll be cruising along and whoop, there goes the ground. It's like I'm driving in gray mud except that it's up to the middle of the door on the car and it doesn't slow the car down. It's quite annoying though. It happen just last night to me when I was playing with Molesto. I'm driving along and whoop, there goes the ground.
And this isn't the games fault per se, but is it possible that the GTA MP audience is by far the worst group of people I/we've ever dealt with? Halo 3 was bad (never played 1 or 2 online), and CoD occasionally gets annoying, but jeez, this game must attract the biggest group of dickheads I've ever played with. Ever single time someone joins a room it's "change _" and if you don't comply with their demands they either try to kick you or try to start crap. CoD is annoying with the 'skip, skip, SKIP' crap, but GTA created a monster by leaving crap up to people in ranked...

absolutely true, except that they claim IGN has some ulterior motive. Yes, it's possible IGN gave it a 10 for that reason, but they weren't the only ones, and if getting reviews early truly affected how reviewers thought, there would've been some pretty unhappy people that would've intentionally given it an 8 regardless of what they actually thought and just to be spiteful.

I was playing some GTA last night with my brother and I gotta say that when I saw the game I was instantly like : what the hell? The graphics were average AT BEST (a TON of jags and dull textures). and the camera looked broken as hell. when I finally played it I was even more shocked at it getting insanely high scores. The driving physics and camera both were terrible, almost identical to that Transformers game, and the game has more glitches in it then I remember ever seeing in another video game. wow, just glad I didn't waist my $65 on it.

I'm having fun with it but I definitely hate having to mash the X button (PS3) to keep running. And I think he runs a hell of a lot slower then the character in the other games.
I have not run into any bugs so far, no glitches or locking up. I just hate the run feature.

You playing on a Standard Definition or a really crappy HD-TV? Cause mine looks great but maybe that's cause I have a good, properly calibrated TV. Not exactly up to Gears standard but still great nonetheless.

I agree the city looks great. But the character models leave a lot to be desired. And it's not like you're always going to be in a helicopter hovering above the city. |
