Ok well I watched all of the footage/info on Prototype on GameTrailers TV and I just cannot understand how this game even has any decent bit of hype. Graphically it looks beyond generic and doesn't hold a candle to half of the decent looking games from this gen. The "Web of Intrigue" stuff just sounds stupid, the combat looks lame, boring, and clunky, the premise of the story just sounds like something a sixth grader could come up with. It looks to me like a D-grade Assassin's Creed clone. Add in the fact that Radical hasn't made a decent game to date and I just fail to understand where the hype is for this one.

I was never under the impression that there's a lot of hype for this game. I've seen/heard it mentioned only a few times.

I don't even follow videogame news like some people here but I've heard quite a bit about it over the past 4 or 5 months. There is definitely some hype around it. From one of the first trailers I saw it looked pretty wild. I'm pretty sure it was delayed once already too so maybe they will work on the graphics and stuff. But yeah, I wasn't aware that the storyline involved amnesia, that's definitely nothing groundbreaking. |

Huh. I'm usually fairly caught up in video game news, but haven't really heard all that much about this game. I read an article in EGM I think, and I think I read a thread about it here a while ago (some retard claiming it to be GoTY already), but other than that, not so much.
Maybe I'm not as up-to-date as I thought....

I think the spin is coming from it being like a supernatural GTA.

If it's sandbox style and like Crackdown, I'll be picking this up on day one.

Every gaming mag & show seems to be hyping it, but it just doesn't look like a game everyone would enjoy. I got a feeling they delayed it because they knew it would flop during the holidays.
As for the game itself, it looks like they all they did was taking their engine they used for Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and added a morphing technique. The game's story doesn't sound like a winner too, since it's another character that somehow forgets who he is & how he got his powers. Which every other game uses to avoid adding a back story at the beginning. |
