What, that's not a terrible price I don't think. $60 would be bad. $37 w/ free Amazon shipping to have both on 1 bluray and not have the need to use your PS2

$40 for the two games in HD with trophy support and a God of War III demo seems like a great price to me. |

True I just got both for 15 bucks but I guess when you throw in the HD it can be worth it.I am happy with them on PS2

I'm not bashing the price, but I don't think trophy support is something that we should see as value. It makes no difference to me if a game doesn't include trophies/achievements. |

I listed it because some people value trophy support. I don't care about trophies but I respect that others love the feature. |

Understood, but I see too many people complaining about games that lack trophy support, but when a re-release (not like this, but a new version) with some minor updates and trophy support added is announced, they cream their pants over it. |
Rouxbik
| | #19 posted October 17, 2009 at 5:18pm (EST) |
Not sure what you're saying, I read it as "People complain about a game not having trophy support then are happy when a re-release has it." Isn't that how a lot of things are?
Anyway, I still think trophy support was a good thing to add to my origional post because many people love trophies. I was just listing the features that would appeal to different people to make the game worth $40 to them. After all, that's why the features are there. God of War and God of War 2 are $20 each on PS2. that's $40. Yeah you can get them cheaper used but the same could be said about the collection.
I'm just talking about other people though, I won't be buying the game. So don't be mad at me |

That's my point. They get all crazy over something that is so trivial IMO. |

10% off all Amazon video game purchases with membership. $20 normally, but I guess there's a free promotion going on.
They took the codes offline, though, because a couple of CAGs figured out a way to hoard them that allowed you to use two or three at a time for a massive discount. As of today, they're not back yet. |

I still have like 50 codes hoarded. :D
They don't stack anymore though. 30% off amazon was great.

I'd agree with you, except people doing this are the reason why it's been over a week, and the codes still haven't refreshed. |

It's because they already had high-resolution resources for God of War and God of War II, but Chains of Olympus was a different development process.
I know Sony has a habit of pulling this crap, but I believe them here. Plus, I'd rather pay $40 for GoW1 and GoW2 than a presumed $60 for the "trilogy". |

Gonna reserve mine this payday. Can't wait. Two of the finest action games ever made: smart, mature, with an amazing protagonist. Can't wait for the conclusion next year!

I love God of War...but yeah, you're right. About the puzzles at least, those suck. I don't know any action games that use more than a weak attack and a strong attack though. That's like saying Call of Cuty sucks because you can only attack by pulling one shoulder button.

There's a reason most action games aren't worth playing. :D
...and you haven't played Shinobi (PS2)!
My argument against games like God of War always goes back to Shinobi. My obsession with the game is heavily documented here and I think at this point people just roll their eyes when I mention it. But yeah, it's an action game that goes well beyond [square] for weak attack, [triangle] for strong attack.

Can't compare the two, apples and oranges.
And I really can't compare the two because I've never played a Call of Duty game. |

I played shinobi (PS2)....it was a very fun game IMO. actually i think i might go find a copy now and see if its still as fun
however i enjoyed GOW more. story, gameplay, graphics....everything about was just so good.
i like both but if i had to choose id take GOW without question |
DR_SPOCK
| | #38 posted October 23, 2009 at 2:49pm (EST) |
Shinobi's a deeper game, period.
GoW surpasses it in story, persentation, visuals, sound, etc. Even upon release, Shinobi was an drab-looking game. |

| | #39 posted October 25, 2009 at 10:02pm (EST) |
Shinobi is probably my second fav action game on the system, right behind ZOE2 and right before GoW2/GoW.
Shinobi beats them all in overall challenge and gameplay, not by a longshot or anything, but still beats them.
