Hello GTZ!
I have been having a problem with one of my GBA games and I'm sure it's just the battery that's no longer functional. When I save my game it works perfectly fine, but when I open it again it says "The save file has been deleted." Now I've looked online and apparently it's quite easy to fix, but to be brutally honest with you, I think I'm too retarded to do this, so I figure I'd pay someone to do it instead if anyone is interested in this. I would pay for the replacement battery of course, but right now for a GBA game I don't even know which battery to get. If anyone can help me out with this I would really appreciate it. Oh, and ofcourse the shipping costs will be paid by me as well.
Just let me know of how much you would be willing to charge for this type of thing, thanks! |

Someone around here bought a large lot of GBA cartridges that needed batteries replaced...and this person was actively doing the work. I just can't remember who it is. Anyone here know who I'm talking about?
idnno you might want to try searching the site with a few key words & see what turns up. I know it was only in the last 2-3 months that I came across a thread or a post talking about this very subject. |

Alright I will definately try that, thanks a lot Cherie!
The worst part is that I just bought this and I made a point of checking it in front of the guy at the store, there were like 3 pissed off people behind me muttering god knows what to themselves while I made them wait... I really don't want to go back and tell him that it's the exact problem I was trying to test out while I was there..It'll look like I can't even test a game properly! (Which I really hope is not the case ) |

I thought the same too. I was under the assumption that legit GBA games used flash memory (or some variation of that) and only pirate GBA games used batteries.
I'm currently looking for Sonic The Hedgehog comics. If you have any, send me a message.

GBA games require a tri-wing screwdriver to open, here's a cheap one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1887~r.9...
unfortunately, I don't own one myself, otherwise I'd crack open my Castlevania Circle of the Moon cart to see if has either flash memory or a battery (it's heavy enough that a battery isn't entirely out of the question, but I know it's a legit cart, so I'm not sure...)
Basically, from reading some things on random threads; if the flash save memory is busted, you're screwed. Static shock can damage the flash.

FYI, I have that screwdriver and the carts I've opened don't batteries.

I'm guessing the flash memory is a chip on the cart? In that case, I don't even think platniumfungi could help you. Just get a new cart; it'll be cheaper in the long run.

Most genuine GBA carts don't have batteries, but there are a few that do. I had an old bookmarked "how to" topic on this very thing, but I can't for the life of me find it now >.< |

I negged BioHazardMan cause its something I've always wanted to do. I'll sleep easier tonight.
I was wondering, if I get one of those fancy screw drivers that opens Game Boy carts do I still need to soddier it to get it to close? |
