Description

One game that has gotten me hooked has got to be Harvest moon: A Wonderful Life. I never really knew the series until I picked this game up and boy, did I miss a lot.

Story: There really isn't much of a plot or story in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. You inherit a forgotten farm from your father. In turn, it's your job to provide help for the farm and make new friends and also to get married.

Gameplay (9/10): There is a lot you do in this farm which you're spending all your days on. Basically, you are responsible for growing your crops, helping your animals and also socializing with your community. Making friends is important in this game because most likely you will be receiving some nice goodies which will help you. The gameplay suits this game very well. I may not be a farmer, but I enjoyed doing some of the chores like watering your crops or brushing the cows. Socializing with the characters in the game was pretty fun as well. I am not going to spoil anything, but some of the characters are...interesting.

Controls (9/10): Controls in this game are simple and easy to use. This area would have gotten a perfect score but there are a couple of factors in which set the score back in this area. For example, a problem I really had was using the sickle. When cutting the grass, you have to be precisely on the right spot or a box will keep popping up. Seeing this box numerous amount of times will surely get you frustrated. Other then that, nothing really got to me in this department giving it a high score.

Graphics (8/10): Graphics are decent but when you compare them to what's currently out on the Cube, they're not that special. Even though the graphics are a little out of date, you will still like them. Some graphical effects in this game are amazing, like how the trees change when an upcoming season arrives.

Sound (7/10): The sound effects in this game are simply amazing. One of the aspects in this game that you will notice and love is the small little sound effects. You hear the birds chirping and even the rain hit the ground when you're inside the house. However, the music is not very well done. Because you are spending a lot of hours in this game, the music will bore you and it will get very repetitive. It wont effect you at first, but when you get into this game deeply, you will know.

Replay Value (8/10): The replay value in this game is very good. You will be hooked on this game for hours on end without stop. But as well, it does get boring after quite a bit because it does take a while to complete, and after you have it complete, you may be reluctant to replay it.

Overall (8.8/10): In conclusion, i loved this game. There are a lot of tiny aspects which keep this game from scoring high. I believe this game would be worth your while to purchase because of the sheer amount of hours you will be putting in. If you are interested in this game, give it a rent and see if you like it. But i would suggest you to buy it right away because it will take you a while to complete.
