I am questing to complete all the numbered Final Fantasy games in order and started in March!

Here is my progression and thoughts on the games.

Final Fantasy (GBA) - Completed April 19th - Thoughts - Great nostalgic experience, story that holds up even today, it's like seeing the whole RPG genre's roots. - Grade B+

Final Fantasy II (GBA) - Completed June 9th - Thoughts - Decent story, horrible level up systems, horrible balance issues (I never knew if I was in an area that had impossible encounters), overall a game I just wanted to be done with. - Grade D+

Final Fantasy III (DS) - Completed December 5th - Thoughts - Finally! This one took me a while as I got 3/4ths of the way through the game and my saves got erased, so I had to start over. Lame! Pretty good story in this one. The job system was fun, and allowed ultimate customization. Some of the non-magic class abilities were stupid. Like the black belt's ability was like a charge ability that caused him to do double damage next turn if he attacked, but I was never able to find a situation where that would be useful. The final boss was hard and punished me for making a fun party and not a 2 healer 2 fighter one that would have made it easier but not near as cool. Geomancers are just too much fun. Nice graphics and sound for a DS game, and the touch controls were done well, it was nice to be able to play the game either way. Overall, with the solid leveling and job system, and fun nostalgic gameplay, I would recommend this game. - Grade A-

Final Fantasy IV (DS) - In Progress.
