He dipped out after I sent, claiming he never received the package. The local postmaster told me that the package was hand delivered to him.
He refuses to send or compromise for the lost package he claims to have never received.
Only way to resolve it is to send his end of the deal or accept 1/2 the games value compromise (for either person) through the most accessible internet means - Amazon.
He would have to send first if he demands 1/2 the games value, or he may just send me 1/2.
Currently this is roughly a $15.00 exchange.

Edit [4/17/2013]
Based on the time it has taken and the events that led to the GTZ community covering the cost of the game (Essentially me acquiring a new copy after all this time),
There's no longer any reason for me to compromise 1/2 to games value ($15.00) TO HIM.
The only option available now is for him to pay the $15.00 TO ME where I may direct it to those people who helped me out.
There's no need for Mortal Kombat to be shipped any longer, the trade is nullified after he resolves the BTR.
Response from Accused "Bad Trader": (26-Jan-2013)
I don't "claim" anything. It is fact. I never received it. Period. I wouldn't stiff you over a game and jeopardize the rep I've earned on this site. Don't flatter yourself. My reluctance to comply with your demands that I compensate or else is simple as this is an error I didn't commit or contribute to. So I don't believe in paying the price for it. It baffles me that I could possibly be classified as the bad trader in all of this. All I ever did was receive nothing and I'm the bad trader? Go figure. What astounds me further is how encouraging and enabling the Mods have been throughout this whole ordeal. You'd think they'd be sensible enough to see right through this joker. Either USPS dropped the ball or Despaire made a mistake along the way. The latter is not at all farfetched considering that prior to the trade he didn't even know First Class was the cheapest method of delivery. When I offered the trade consisting of First Class with Delivery Confirmation as the shipping option Despaire replied "I will never ship First Class on this site, the point is cheap trading so I don't feel like I'm at Gamestop." So not only is he ignorant but he is convinced he is right when he clearly isn't. If I did in fact receive the game I must be some kind of delusional to cooperate to the extent that I have and provide all the specific details about my findings in dealing with the post office in the aftermath of this fiasco. Don't believe him. He's obviously an ill-informed trader who will get your packages lost or delivered to the wrong residence and still expect you to hold up your end of the deal when he hasn't.

[UPDATE] March 29, 2013

Man the dousche bags on this site never cease to amaze me. It goes back to what I've being saying about each trading site being only as good as its members. I've submitted numerous offers in the past few days and haven't heard back or even received so much as a brief response with a decline (some actually have and kudos to them), the way I'm sure most everyone here would prefer it happen to them. But why they don't do it themselves? Haven't the slightest. Especially, when you consider that I've been offering stuff THEY themselves have designated as desirable. If you don't like that particular offer, countering is always an option. And I strongly doubt that it's because of my BTR because I've been getting a lot of people hitting me up about the BTR being complete and utter bull. Which it is. So if your thing is not trading with me or even acknowledging my offers because of that, you're just a tool. Plain and simple. And I'm glad you're one less person I have to trade with because you're devoid of any common sense or rationality. I doubt anyone with 100% feedback and 40 trades under their belt would compromise what they've achieved (10 away from a Gold Star) by swindling a newbie. Unless perhaps they were about to swear off using the site altogether, and guess what, I'm still here. LOL, exactly. I actually used to be an advocate for this site, but that all ended with the BTR. I will be here for only as long as the site proves useful to me. I don't care for anyone's feelings. I don't care if you want me to leave. I will be here as long as I can benefit and will carry on with complete disregard for any debilitating effects of the BTR. The only way my attitude will change is if that BTR is rescinded and order is restored. But I'm not holding my breath because if it's going to happen it's not going to happen with my participation. I did nothing wrong. Simple as that. But back to what I was saying about the type of behavior plaguing this site (ignoring offers, declining without comment, lowball offers, etc.). It's been the sad truth on here for as long as I can remember so I'm not at all suprised just irritated by it enough to finally put pen to paper. I mean, courtesy really just flies over everyone's head here, don't it? I'm all about doing unto others, but that's cool, do as you please. To hell with everything, right? I can be a jerk too. So anyway, moving forward all my offers will be of the 90-day variety so you trolls will be forced to acknowledge them. And if you do NOTHING it'll reflect poorly on YOU, in the same vein as the BTR on me. Not hoping or expecting anything to change, aside from the people of course.

[UPDATE] February 27, 2013

So I've been a member of this site for 3 years running and I get a BTR from a guy who couldn't even get his first trade right. Well, obviously this this has to be a great site then, right? HA! Any trading site is only as good as its traders and the large majority of traders on here are looking to take advantage of someone. Cool. Fine. Whatever. I don't think I really need to express how much significance the BTR has to me, because all it proves is that you can do absolutely nothing and still get one. Absurd, ain't it? Exactly. So, as a way to reciprocate how good the site has been to me I'm going to disregard the BTR entirely. You don't have to. But I will. You can interpret it how you please but I know the truth and am not one to pay for others' mistakes. So I don't care if the BTR is a big deal to you because it's a joke to me. As far as I'm concerned, sure it's there, and I was stripped of my silver star but was it warranted? Of course not. I refuse to acknowledge the BTR and will carry on as if twere not even there because it shouldn't be. If you want to trade with me don't try to use it as a tool to squeeze more out of me or to get me to make a trade out of desperation like I'm some black sheep 'cause I'm not. Check out other traders with BTRs and you'll realize how truly laughable mine is. Do I want it there? No, who does? But do I care much that it is? Precisely not because I know it has no merit. It's not the end of the world if we don't get to trade. I'll live. So will you. So just know that I'm not looking to make any kind of ridiculous pity trades to disprove the BTR. I will make the same kinds of trades I have all along and I will still send first to traders more proven than I and less proven traders will still have to send first to me. And if we have the same amount of trades or I've traded with you in the past we'll send simultaneously. If you're opposed to anything I've said, we just won't trade. It's that simple.

[UPDATE] February 21, 2010

I know I'm new to GameTZ but I'm not inexperienced when it comes to trading or shipping.

I know a fair trade when I see one and will keep my offers as fair as possible. I expect you'll do the same.

If you're offended by my offers in any way I do apologize but they support my interpretation of fair trades so don't take it personal.

I strongly prefer unopened electronics to preowned electronics for the simple fact th at if they were to ever malfunction for any reason I'd know it could not be due to any fault other than the manufacturer's or mine own.
Obviously I'm well aware that I won't always be able to get my hands on an unopened copy of a game, system, accessory or what have you. That's why I'm not completely opposed to trading for preowned I just prefer unopened.

In any case, feel free to offer items of any condition but just know that your chances of trading with me increase significantly if unopened items are offered my way.

Thanks and good luck.

[UPDATE] July 6, 2010 at 11:45 AM

For the past couple of weeks I've tried to be active on this site offering plenty of fair deals and what not but I think my luck has run out. In fact, that's an understatement.

In total I've offered 50 trades to have only two of them accepted. And both were offered by me so you can easily gauge the fairness in my offers by using those as examples.

I don't understand it. I thought this was a fun and exciting gaming community. Instead the vibe I've gotten has been the exact opposite from the four dozen people I've contacted regarding trades.

The most ironic thing about it all is that I've been strictly offering people items that they themselves placed on their wish list and yet I get a flat out decline almost every time without a counter offer in return.

Now this irks me quite a bit considering you obviously want something if it's on your wish list and no matter how much or how little to not even submit a counter offer to merely explore a potential deal is puzzling.

For every offer I've made except for the exchange of money for games which is considered a sale by all accounts I've offered to send first every time (First Class w/ Delivery Confirmation).

It doesn't make any sense to me and I'm just flat out not going to bother anymore because this is becoming quite a waste of time and a disappointment to say the least.

Just thought I'd give my two cents and give a heads up to anyone who might offer a trade and/or wonder about my inactivity for the foreseeable future.

[UPDATE] November 30, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Since my last update I've had the privilege of trading with some very honest and fair traders here @ GameTZ.

However, I've drastically lowered my expectations since I've come to the realization that for every honest trader there's no shortage of rude and obnoxious punks.

So while this is a great trading website, definitely among the best, there'll always be a number of GTZ users with a habit of detracting from the overall experience.

If we haven't traded before or at least exchanged offers, then this doesn't in any way apply to you.

Everyone gets the benefit of the doubt in my mind until they've proven otherwise.

First impressions set the tone so if you're going to issue a trade offer why not make it your best one?

And I'd hate to sound like a broken record by reiterating the sentiment that seems all too common among traders but an explanation for why a trade was rejected is always welcome unless it's blatantly obvious.

It also baffles me when some people list an item of theirs as available for trade and under condition/box/manual they select "don't care" where applicable.

Now I understand if you do that for an item of want, but for an item of yours that you're trading it's ridiculous. Case in point...

(Sorry dude. I would've blurred out your name but you're a troll laughing out loud)

Don't get me wrong, I know some people simply don't care about the condition of the items that they trade for.

But I'm sure most people do, and I just think its common sense to accurately describe merchandise for trading purposes. Maybe it's just me.

Then again, none of that applies to me because if I see that you "don't care" about the condition of your items, how could I possibly?

Anyway just thought I'd mention it here for my amusement. I know it's not a big deal at all just thought I'd have some fun with it.

But down to business...

I'm mostly interested in Playstation 3 gamesharing at the moment.

It's a means of saving money by swapping downloadable games or DLCs that you currently own for ones that you don't.

There's either the trade route I just mentioned or, alternatively, the sale of the contents of one's account. Whichever works.

I have a bunch of DLCs that I'm willing to swap for ones that I do not own or I'll sell them outright for a discounted rate than what the Playstation Store is offering.

This way we can both save money by swapping DLCs that we have a mutual interest in or I could sell you the games for a reduced price and then purchase more games.

I'm mainly interested in trading or selling, not buying. But thanks anyway.

Among the PS3 games and DLCs that are currently atop my wish list are...

- All Mafia II DLC (Jimmy's Vendetta, Joe's Adventures, Greaser pack, Renegade pack, Vegas pack, and War Hero pack, etc.) check

- All PAIN DLC (Abusement Park, Museum, Movie Studio, Sore Spots, other add-ons, characters, etc.) check

- Joe Danger uncheck

- LIMBO uncheck

- Shank uncheck

- TerRover uncheck

- Deathspank uncheck

- Dead Nation check

- Rocket Knight uncheck

- Planet Minigolf uncheck

- WipEout HD + Fury check

- PSP games (Dante's Inferno, Assassin's Creed Bloodlines, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, ModNation Racers, Resistance: Retribution, Killzone: Liberation, etc.)

- PSone games (Mainly just classics like the Metal Gear Solids, Tomb Raiders, Crash Bandicoots, Final Fantasys, etc.)

There are many more and will be more in the future as new ones are released but that should do it for now.

If you're not familiar with gamesharing, as far as I know you're allowed to share your PSN account with up to 5 consoles (including your own) so ideally I would like to trade with people who have a large majority of the games on my wish list and even better would be trading with users who are frequently purchasing content on the Playstation Store so that sharing accounts will serve as residually beneficial well into the future.

I will also be doing my best to frequently purchase content but the games that I currently have on my account are:

- PSP games: Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, God of War: Chains of Olympus, LittleBigPlanet PSP, ModNation Racers PSP, Killzone: Liberation

- PSOne Classics and minis: Crash Bandicoot, Twisted Metal 2, Hysteria Project, Hysteria Project 2 (all compatible with PS3+PSP)

[UPDATE] September 18, 2012 at 8:30 PM

I will not be trading on this site for the foreseeable future, if at all, going forward. A Bad Trader Report or BTR will soon be filed against me by a trader named Despaire and I don't envision sticking around long enough to see that happen therefore I'm going to state my defense here. A little over a month ago I engaged in a trade with Despaire that didn't quite go as planned. As a new user, he agreed to ship first and did so promptly using First Class with Delivery Confirmation as per the trade agreement. The tracking log showed that it was shipped and was updated at nearly every stop, concluding with a "Delivered" designation at 9:44 am on August 6, 2012. However, I didn't receive the package that day contrary to what the tracking showed and called to get answers. I was told by a postal worker who consulted with the carrier responsible for handling the package that it was accidentally scanned at 9:44 am while still in the post office and then scanned again one minute later at 9:45 as "Out For Delivery." It's odd because that last bit of information is apparently only viewable on USPS's end and doesn't appear on the tracking log available to myself or the trader. Not to mention that a correct "Delivered" designation never occurred and we are only left with the accidental one as proof of delivery. Crazy, isn't it? Well, something I noticed that happens on almost every delivery that I've had by the USPS is that an "Out For Delivery" designation almost always is a precursor to a package marked "Delivered" but in this instance it wasn't and along with everything else, is solid proof that it was handled improperly toward the end of the delivery cycle. To make matters worse, USPS doesn't track to specific addresses so there's no way of telling where the package was actually delivered to, if it was in fact delivered. So ultimately, I never received Despaire's game and the tracking log shows it was delivered in my town and zip code but not to my address so I have reason to question whether, as a first time trader, whom I had to inform that First Class mail was cheapest, since he thought it was an expensive shipping option, in the same vein as an expensive First Class airline ticket, whether he wrote the proper address on the parcel, or whether it was ledgible enough to the carrier's eye, or both. Regardless, I would say that ultimately the carrier appears to be at fault here, having improperly scanned the package coupled with the fact that I'm not even on that particular carrier's route. So anyway, regardless of the fact that the USPS is at fault here, I'm essentially the one being held responsible to compensate for Despaire's loss, either with my game or reimbursing him half the cost of his. That was the suggestion of the Mods and Despaire has taken that and ran with it, stating that I do that or else. No insurance was agreed upon as per the terms of the trade so none were applied to his package. Because of this, USPS won't compensate him, and therefore having me share the loss becomes his only fruitful outcome. My mentality is that if I didn't contribute to the loss in any way, shape, or form, and that someone else is entirely responsible, in this case USPS, I am not going to assume responsibility for their mistake, and especially not if that led to someone else's loss. I don't view that as fair. As far as I'm concerned, you are responsible for anything that happens your game until it reaches me. And as such, only once the trade is officially completed does your game become mine. At the same token, I am responsible for whatever happens to my games until they reach you. If they are lost in the process, then I have to deal with that and potentially suffer that loss because it's a prerequisite that I willingly acknowledged and agreed to by trading here. I can't hold you responsible if my game didn't reach you. That's just how I view it. In this case, it's not my loss. Call it selfish or whatever you want but that's where I stand. Then when Mods got involved, they gave Despaire the green light to file the BTR on me for failing to share his loss. Sorry but that's laughable to me. During the course of a previous trade, in which a horrendous trader by the name of Dlinker21 refused to follow through on our agreement and send his side, all the while lying about having shipped it and more and more lies that followed about experiencing a power outage and including the wrong address while filing for carrier pickup, after a month or more of lies I finally filed a BTR on him and felt it was justified considered he is a flat out BAD TRADER (which is an understatement) and fellow traders ought to be made aware of it. So bill intervenes, deletes the BTR, and takes it upon himself to cancel the trade on behalf of Dlinker21. I had to suffer losses there, considering the time and effort I put into contacting Dlinker21 and having my game tied up within the trade, preventing me from trading it elsewhere, or even selling it. At that point, selling it would've meant that I would have to take less than I could've gotten for it a month earlier. All those things considered, however big or small, they are losses nonetheless, and I had to accept them and move on. Well, bill got involved again in this trade with Despaire and has a knack for constantly citing site policy. Well where does it say in site policy that bill can intervene in a trade and cancel on someone else's behalf? Also, bill says, according to site policy, a BTR is appropriate when someone gets ripped off. Am I the one ripping off Despaire? So why is his BTR against ME valid? GameTZ policies are flawed and far from perfection and yet nothing is done to improve upon them. More power to you, bill, but I'm obviously not going to stick around and suffer time and time again when I have done everything required of me as a trader. Thanks to those who've traded with me. Best of luck to everyone. It's been a fun ride.
