If by "work just the same" you mean it puts ink on paper, then yes. But I wouldn't compare it to those cables. A nice fountain pen feels completely different than a normal pen. It has a nice weight in the hand, writes incredibly smoothly, never clogs or skips, is refillable, lasts forever, looks great, can use different types/colors of ink/nibs, etc. I think a more apt comparison would be shoes. Yes, you can buy a $20 pair of shoes, and they will still cover your feet, but they don't feel the same, last as long, or look as good as spending a little more money.
To each their own, though. Maybe I'm just a pretentious prick.
I like nice pens, and this is not the only one I own. I thought I would list it here to see if anyone was interested so I could get another trade under my belt. Based on the negative score on the post, it seems not. I will give it a day or two more. After that I'll put it on ebay and very likely get more than I'm asking here.
If anyone does want to try a fountain pen and see for themselves, but doesn't want to drop a ton of money, try a Pilot Metropolitan. You can get them for $10-15 on Amazon, and they are very good for their price.
