Looking to pick up a TiVo Roamio soon but want to make sure that I am making the right choice on DVR for my OTA setup. These suckers aren't cheap so I was curious if somebody had one or a similar DVR that you prefer. Thanks

Consider the cost. A TiVo will come with a monthly fee in order to have a guide. This is necessary because otherwise you would have no DVR functionality. The purpose of cord cutting is to reduce the price which is why I went with a Channel Master. Their equipment comes with a free guide. It works well for me!

Gotta be honest - I fail to see the purpose of a DVR with all of the apps for almost every major network nowadays...plus Hulu.

Trying to get to the point to where I cut out Hulu and CBS All Access out of my budget

Our contract with dish runs out in a couple of months and I'm looking at going to Sling. Anybody have any advice on pitfalls I need to avoid or hints?

Sling is a GREAT service. I've been nothing but happy with it since I got it a year ago. I tried the DirectTV Now and Playstation Vue - and Sling, for less money, was still my choice.

Nothing really to avoid, and no hints really smiley:::raspberry It's pretty self explanatory IMO.
