I have a question. For a very long time, I seriously can't remember how many months, or even years, I've had pain in my right ankle. It doesn't really affect my walking or running, and doesn't have enough pain to cause me to see a doctor. But I do have discomfort, and it mildly hurts when I move my ankle in certain directions, like when I stretch my foot up towards me.

What's odd, is that when I go hiking, the pain goes away for a few days, then comes back. Other than that, I can't figure out how to make it go away. I've tried many different shoes, I tried stretching and exercising it, I've even attempted to walk a little bit differently, and it has never went away, except when I hike.

Anybody have any similar issues, and if so, what did you do to make it go away?

Have you tried Dr Scholls or something? Also I think there are different ways to tie your shoes depending on where the pain your having is.

Muscular imbalance, tight muscles when you sit down, you're putting too much pressure on it to make up for other muscles that are weak. hiking stretches it out and allows other muscles to support you and strengthens them

I had to use the fetish heading because I wasn't sure if any gentlemen here would've came in here to discuss my feet.

Agreed. Title of this thread should be: Foot Pain, who has it?

I tried some gel inserts from Walmart, they were $4.96 + tax. They're actually quite comfortable, but I guess they didn't work for the pain.

Hmmm, I'm gonna pay attention to that now, thanks for the info. My right foot is my power foot, meaning I use it as my first step when going up stairs, getting up after kneeling, etc. So maybe there is an imbalance. I haven't really noticed, but I'm gonna see if maybe I inadvertently lean on my right foot when I'm a little exhausted.

Sounds like osteoarthritis. Typically hurts more until you warm up. The hikes are prolly just doing that. Especially in cooler months.

Gotta say. Pretty tough typing these posts while simultaneously sucking on my toes.

I'm too dang young for any kind of arthritis. If I do have it, that really sucks for me.

Usually it's from a previous injury. I have pretty bad OA in my right shoulder from an injury in high school. They've tried to cut me for 10 years.

Hmmm, I used to play softball, but I can't remember if I ever sprained it or not. I do know I've never broken it, though.
