After Dish upped our bill again, I'm cutting the cord. Anyone have any suggestions for the best services? Main two things we're looking for are local channels (antenna reception is horrible where we live) and Disney Junior/Nick Junior. Hulu Live and Direct TV Now seem to be the best two options I've found, but definitely open to suggestions.

I hear nothing but good things about Sling TV.

I don't believe it's super economical for me to even cut the cord unfortunately. Decent internet alone through Xfinity is $120/month. Then Sling on top of that is like $50 with the channels you need. $170 isn't much cheaper than cable.

Couldn't tell you about services with local channels, but you don't have to marry a set of streaming services. I flip between Netflix, Hulu, and HBO monthly depending on what we're watching. I watch things from all three, but to be constantly subscribed to all of them would be a waste.

I like Sling, we use it much more than Netflix even and I think we only pay like $20-25/month for it. Good amount of content and lots of good movies on demand.

I liked Vue until Viacom dropped them.

We use Sling, Hulu, Netflix and Funimation. Everything adds up to what some basic cable packages are. Sling is a good service but sometimes buggy for us. You can't skip commercials and sometimes if your connection drops and you're midway through a show, it'll restart it for you and guess what? You can't fast forward. We keep Sling for AMC and local baseball.

I'd love to drop Hulu but we get it commercial free and that's what I watch all of my network TV shows on so I don't have to sit through commercials. Netflix is just killing it with spectacular shows.

I'm not sure where you live, but you are getting screwed on your internet service! I pay $40 a month for speeds around 100 mbps. You only need 25 mbps for 4K streaming. You should reconsider your plan and save yourself some dough.

I don't know if the service has improved, but my experience with DirecTV Now was incredibly poor all around. The streams would freeze on multiple devices and the customer service is abysmal. For live streaming with local, I liked the little time I used both PlayStation Vue and Hulu Live. I found Sling TV too clunky and slightly overpriced when compared to Vue. You may also want to see if YouTube TV is an option in your area: you can share it with six YouTube accounts and also ge access to youTube Red.
