Hey Everyone!

I'm looking for a bar top arcade cabinet or something similar. I know these are a beast to ship but i'm willing to pay if the price is right. Does anyone have anything like this that they'd like to sell? Thanks!

Have you checked Craigslist for local builders?

I built mine and loved it. I highly recommend building yourself. It's super simple and I didn't have any previous experience with woodworking

RecRoomMasters Has a pretty decently priced one. Also check out Johnny Fhaze (sp) he detailed his build of a pretty easy and nice one if you have the means to cut wood yourself (or ask HD/Lowes to do it for you)

You can get a decent all in one unit with 2 arcade sticks and 900 games built into it for under $200, or build your own for around $120
Then just add the cabinet and you're in business

Pretty sure there's already software you can use. Just a matter of getting it installed. I've been wanting to make one myself, but I'm holding off until I have the physical space for it

Generally something along the line of this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1299-in-1-Pandora-Box-6s-...

You want a Pandora's Box or a Pandora's Box clone. If you're anal about the quality of the arcade sticks, buy the unit itself here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/PANDORA-BOX-5-JAMMA-ARCAD...

and then add your own sticks to it. most of it is plug and play, no soldering required

Drove me nuts how a lot of Neo geo and CPS2 had slowdown and sound problems. (On the newest/"official" one) Really no reason to ever buy a Pandora's Box if you have a computer to use in your cab build unless you want to take it somewhere, but you could just take your computer and a stick (?)

What does Pandora's Box run on? Linux?

It runs on Raspberry pi.
I have no problems with it at all.
I just replaced the sticks themselves with higher quality ones.

Raspberry Pi! Oh....well I'd probably just build my own if that's the case. I already have the arcade buttons and stuff. I was thinking about using a Core i3 PC in my MAME cabinet build, but I might just go with a Pi anyhow wry smile

Does anyone think there is an advantage to using either a Core i3 machine with an older AMD HD5450 graphics card or a raspberry Pi?

I prefer my PC over the Pi for my build, but perhaps I'm just being old school. My machine is not connected to the internet and runs perfectly fine on Windows XP. I think as long as I prevent it from updating it will continue to run perfect. I also really like the Hyperspin front end with themes and video snaps.

Here is a quick video I shot awhile ago. Since this video I did buy a new control panel, but haven't had a chance to drill the holes. Perhaps this weekend.

What are the specs on your PC? I was running a Windows XP Celeron machine, and it had trouble with the videos on Hypserspin....I think the Core i3 w/ a video card will solve that problem.

I did end up installing Windows 10 (a "free" version that will never connect to the internet again or be registered)...it should work nicely.

Also, that's a great looking cabinet man yes I have a plain cab ready to put a TV and PC into, along with buttons and joysticks. Just have to put it all together yes
