I've been wanting to get another Blu Ray player recently but came across a deal on an Xbox One S instead. I figure it can play the Blu Rays I want plus it's a current gen game system on top of it. I found a deal on Ebay for the 500 GB Forza Horizon 3 bundle for $188 shipped after Ebay Bux promo. Seemed like a pretty good deal, I figure they won't be a whole lot cheaper on black Friday. Hard drive size doesn't matter much to me because I already have spare external hard drives I could use. What are the best Xbox One exclusives? I have a PS4 already so I'm not really interested in cross platform games right now. Rare replay is the #1 game on my list followed by the Halo collection. Anything else you recommend? Also if you have any games for trade, let me know. I am looking for games in excellent condition and complete. I am against digital downloads so I am looking for physical copies only. Thanks!

Well, it sounds like you're getting Forza Horizon 3 already, which is one of the best racing games ever crated, so I'll leave that one off my list.

Halo 5
Gears of War 4
Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition
Cuphead (digital only, but you need to play this game regardless)
Forza 7 (if you like track racers/sims)
Halo Wars 2 (if you like RTS games)
Super Hot (I think this just landed on the PS4 but it was an exclusive until like a month ago)
Crimson Dragon (if you like Panzer Dragoon style rail shooters)
Ryse: Son of Rome (if you can find it for cheap)
Dead Rising 3 & 4
Quantum Break was pretty decent
Recore is a great throwback to the PS2 era 3d platformers. Definitive edition just landed too which added a ton of content
Sunset Overdrive. (Very fun game which reminded me a lot of Jetset Radio for the Dcreamcast)
D4 (really strange Swery made game. Digital only through)
Voodoo Vince Remaster (also digital only but a great game if you like 3d platformers)

Plus there are all the backwards compatible Xbox 360 games and even some great OG Xbox games just became available for BC such as: Black, Crimson skies, KotoR, and Ninja Gaiden Black.

How's Forza 7 for someone that likes to just occasionally play a racing game?

Forza 7 has all kinds of setting to make it however you want. You can either race with simulated damage/steering or computer assisted driving, difficult AI or easy, etc.....If you enjoy just driving around and doing a bunch of different types of racing then Forza Horizon 3 is better for that. I've always used the main Forza games as a much more competitive track racer.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's funny I'm most excited about the remastered games (rare and halo collection). Dead rising is probably next on my list. Cuphead looks awesome too but I refuse to buy digital, even if it means I'll miss out on a game. I didn't realize the system had backwards compatibility. Does that mean I can play compatible OG Xbox and 360 games if I have the disc or only if I buy it digitally?

All the backwards compatible games can be used via a physical disc. The og Xbox right now only has like 8 games you can play, but x360 has hundreds of games that you can play, all on either disc, or digital.

But I do have a question. I totally get wanting physical, but why would you absolutely never buy a digital only game? Even if it's cheap and an awesome game?

I loved Rare Replay, I think still my most played "game" on the X1, I've spent over 200 hours playing it and I've still not beaten every game on it. So many good games.

I'm against digital games as well, but Cuphead is so good that I looked past that and I'm glad I did. Its one of the most unique games I've ever played and the two brothers who made it quite literally poured 5 years of their lives into the game and it shows. Its simply an amazing game.

Yup, if you have the disc you can just pop it into the X1, download it to your HDD, then play it. There are 13 OG Xbox games and 441 Xbox 360 games.

Might as well get Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 if you like shooters. If you like hack and slash style zombie games, go for Dead Rising 4. I've also heard great things about all of the Forza titles (except 5) if you like racing and Quantum Break. I'd also pick up Rare Replay if you were a fan of their N64 titles.

I must agree. Last week my stepson found a great price on a new one s bundle. Before now I have been mainly a ps4 gamer. But I must say that there are plenty of games on Xbox to play.
I actually found I like the one controller so much better then the ps4 ones. Plus the battery life is way better. I have found myself starting to halt buying some ps4 games in favor of Xbox.
I love horizon 3, I have not played a racing game that I really have enjoyed since the burnout series. I have been burnt out on need for speed games for years.
I'm even going to start looking for a few select x360 bc games like dark souls and oblivion.

If you like RPGs, I've seen a lot of people on here recommend Lost Odyssey.

Lost odyssey is definitely the 360's best jrpg. I think id go with tales of vesperia at 2. jrpgs are def x's weakest category, but that's due to X not being a thing in japan. they are very loyal to sony and Nintendo there. on the og xbox front you can play star wars knights of the old republic, a true classic. hopefully kotor 2 follows as well as jade empire. sid meier's pirates is also another great og xbox title, someone at MS is def a fan as I wasn't expecting that game but its one of my personal faves

The best RPGs I played on the 360 are as follows:

Lost Odyssey
Eternal Sonata
Tales of Vesperia
Blue Dragon
Enchanted Arms (made by FromSoftWare)

Lost Odyssey is what Square has been (unsuccessfully) trying to create since FF10 and had the best story. Sonata has the best music and gameplay out of the bunch. Blue Dragon is pretty much a 3D SNES RPG. It was very easy and light hearted but had a ton of content. Enchanted Arms was a good game too, kind of your typical cheesy JRPG, but it was pretty much a mix of the Evolution series meets Pokémon.

I think all the leads of that game were the lead devs for the older FF games when they were employed by Square, which is why you pretty much got the best FF game in over a decade. I wish Mistwalker would stop making cellphone games and start making console games again. MS needs to have them make a sequel to L.O.

I think they took the guy who did the story, another who did the character design, and the music composer. Pretty much everything that made the old FF games good.

I guess it's just my way of protesting digital games. My backlog is absolutely ridiculous so even if I pass on digital only games, it would still take me 10 years to play what I already have. Hopefully LRG (or someone else) will make a physical of Cuphead. It looks like an old Disney film, which is cool. It sounds like I still have plenty of other choices for games that are physical. BTW do you guys recommend Dead Rising 3 or 4 first? I enjoyed the original but didn't like the whole time system. I don't know that I ever beat the game, if I recall it was pretty difficult.

Dead rising 4 it was pretty glitchy at launch but, man its a riot. It got hate for redesigning and re-voicing Frank west but,if you dont care new frank is pretty fun. The game is just fun as hell there are so many creative and fun ways to go on a killing spree.

I have not played either yet, but from what I saw, DR3 still has a time system, but more laid back then the first one, and DR4 I think does away with the time altogether

You have yours already? I thought it came out on Friday.

The Burnout Paradise comp makes me very happy! I hear it's riddled with microtransactions which worries me a little, but I'm going to keep my preorder and dive in over the weekend.

The thing that makes Cuphead difficult is that the bosses never attack in the same pattern like they do in Mega Man, so you need to just get good at figuring each boss out. The first boss I played I was able to beat without getting hit but by the time I finished the game I died 377 times.

Finally got my first game to try out, rare replay. It doesn't make any sense though because even with the disc in it says it's "downloading" 11 GB. Why wouldn't it just install from the disc? It's going super slow too..this might take a few hours..

EDIT: I found out that by "going offline" it would install from the disc. It's already about 10% in now within a few minutes. Downloading the whole game when you have the disc is a pretty dumb "default" feature.

Wow so about an hour later, I thought it finished. However when I launch the actual game, several games such as conkers bad fur day say "updated required" and they have no cover art. When I click them it says I can't play without updating. When I try to update from the main Xbox screen, it will start for maybe 5 seconds and Says "update stopped." I had to reboot several times and it finally appears to be doing the update.

I don't know about physical, but with digital, it has to download all the n64 games and newer separately. So conkers, perfect darks, etc for me took longer and an extra download. I'd about the disc tho. It's bc they are considered 360 games, so they will have their own icon in the games section.

Controller update was from......I think Respawn, who requested an increase in joystick accuracy from MS so they went and implemented it. The HDD comes out of the box with only like 380gb or something because of the system information take up a good chunk. I have a 1tb external with 95 games on it and I still have over 50% storage space available. With the cheap HDDs this black Friday I would recommend picking one up.

Don't get me wrong, it's cool we have the option of updates. I just find it annoying when I'm forced to do it. I've been installing/updating the Halo collection this afternoon. The install was 45 GB and the update is 20 GB. It's been a little over 2 hours and the update is about 75% done (install is done). I'll probably go ahead and install Gears of War remake too. I enjoyed the original and the Remake came with Rare Replay.

You're right about hard drives, they are cheap. Do you know if I can make it save all games on the console but install them to the external?

Yeah, when you get a new console with a bunch of new games it sucks to have to sit there and install a bunch of stuff before you can actually play any of them.

Wherever the game data is located, the saved data will be with it in same location.
So if you have any games saved on external, all of those games saved data will be on the external.
But what is nice about Xbox is that it does cloud saves for free and automatically everything you exit a game, as long as your console is connected to the internet and your signed into your account.

It's not like on Sony, where you can only get cloud saves by having ps+, everybody gets cloud saves on Xbox for free
