2017 is almost over, and while there remain many great unplayed games from this year for most of us, 2018 is nearly upon us.
What are your most anticipated titles that are likely to release next year? fun one, which do you think will be the biggest let down?
Ace Combat 7, Dragon Quest 11, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Spiderman, Project Octopath Traveler, and Vampyr are all up there for me. also trails of cold steel 3 along with 1 and 2 hitting ps4. and im sure im forgetting some as I quickly bang this out.
of these, Vampyr I think has the most potential to let me down, maybe. -
KCD ended up being the one that's let me down the most so far as of july, its just not good on consoles because they didnt put enough time into adjusting the systems to a controller, but im gonna try again on PC later. but vampyr was janky too, great concepts though as an IP it has potential, feels like an old gameoverall I think the biggest disappointment for me will be sea of thieves, that has been high up there for me since its announcement but the more that comes out about it the more its not what I hoped for in nearly any way. I guess i'll just keep playing sid meiers pirates, maybe look into some mods for it to satisfy my needs for good fun pirating adventures.
predictions.....just throw some fun crap out and we'll see if any of it sticks.
-pokemon switch is huge-
it will be next year lol, so this will push to next years topic-smash switch announced -
got it, but not exactly a stretch to expect it-kingdom hearts 3 actually releases -
missed it THAT much...maybe-FF7 remake dated for 2019, lots of new info and footage at E3 and throughout the year -
with the project scrapping and starting over we might see it for the 25th anniversary in 2022 lol-Bethesda finally reveals Starfield, but does not reveal ES6. -
half right-Cyberpunk 2077 gets some new info revealed but still no real trailer, indicating that the game is 2020 at best, and cdpr's last game on current gen consoles before shifting to what comes next -
fairly accurate, still no gameplay trailer to the public, behind closed doors demo was pre-alpha, looks like 2020 at best is likely though -Red dead redemption 2 slips again, but only a little.
got it..for now-far cry 5 ends up being surprisingly good, like really good -
eh, its very ok, but not what I expected-mainline fire emblem for switch revealed -
got it, yay!!!-Ubisoft and Ancel announce that Wild just wasn't working and focus is being moved to BG&E2 (I don't want that to happen, but no news about this game at all has me worried)
not exactly announced, but no news on wild still feels bad-Dragon Age 4 revealed but is a ways off -
got it, 3 years out-the backlash from battlefront 2 causes problems for Anthem, EA blames bioware
seems to be a thing, much content I see for anthem seems to indicate heavy skepticism for anthem-switch virtual console is revealed, and our Wii U VC purchases carry (hey I can dream lol) -
once again Nintendo shows me why I didn't buy a Nintendo console for over 15 years-more remasters (I know this one is a stretch)
ya, but I mean ..that's gonna be forever. im betting ps5 and next gen is full of them too-ports of games from the last year or two to the switch, LOTS of them. indies and AAA's alike. (Furi was announced today)
also not a stretch, im sure it will continue-no new consoles revealed -
accurate, and I don't think we see them next year either-will see Nintendo begin to have all its main teams focus on switch and 3ds continues to dwindle. (this may already be the case?) -
somewhat? 3ds games, at least major ones, seem to be slowing, but support for the system til 2020 was announced
