I never remember people mocking PS2 or PS3's BC, I also remember people making a huge deal about the PS2 being BC because it was revolutionary on account of it being the first home console t do that. Not sure which fanboys were mocking PS3 being backwards compatibility, especially since the 360's BC became available a full year before the PS3 even launched.
