Surge came out today. so far not bad. very nioh and bloodborn feel as in fast combat. switching limbs takes some getting used to.
Phantom Dust remaster is supposed to be out today for free.
injustice came out today as well. grabbed that on my ps4 though,
I'd say keep it. It has a lot of features with upscaling and stuff the "S" doesn't have and the HDMI cable is supposed to be pretty much the best one available anywhere, and a bigger & faster HDD than the S. It will run quieter than your "S" (even thought the S is typically pretty quiet), and it will be the lead platform for a lot of games going forward. I would at least test it out for a few weeks and see if you like it more than the S you had. If you don't see the difference, then would be a good time to sell it off.
A lot of games are only offered as digital, it would be interesting to see what percentage of games are sold as digital that have both a physical and digital release. I believe that retail games with both options still mostly sell physical. This was kind of MS's entire point at the beginning of the gen, all though they also wanted for you to be able to add up to 10 people outside of your home to your "plan" and you could share games back and fourth. They just did a horrible job of explaining that and didn't have the benefits as the selling points but rather the limitations of their plan, namely the always online aspect which Sony seems to have adopted with not only PSNow, but also some of their biggest AAA games such as GT Sport. In all honesty, I think what we're going to get in the future is what MS wanted to do at the beginning of this generation, they just tried to implement everything too quickly rather than take baby steps and get us slowly acclimated to it.
Last gen going all digital really wasn't much of an option, but now a lot of people seem to be going that direction and why not since you have the DL every game to your HDD anyways. Always online will still be a ways off because not everyone who would want to play is going to have internet, but I wonder if that's such a small percentage now that that's not really much of a consideration to the industry.
Once game stores are out of the picture that will happen. I've heard a lot that they can't under cut places like GS and Amazon because they'll stop carrying their games if they do. They'll have to build up a beefy online store then make game stop irrelevant first.

They're getting better. Just picked up Persona 5 digitally for $30, hardest decision was deciding between PS3 version or PS4 version, which would necessitate a PS4 purchase.
I went with the PS4 version.
I think they have to be careful that they don't price themselves out of the physical market; B&M stores are fickle and don't like being challenged on value. Look at what they did with the new Pirates of Dark Water game when Xbox said they'd include it with PS+ subscriptions.
Dude probably played the controller with grubby hands. I liked the heft also but it was unexpected when taking it out of the box and it nearly slipped out of my hands. The thing is dead silent too, I think it runs at like 40db or something like that. PUBG is all my Brother has played since it launched, its hooked on it.

LOL, my thoughts... but the sticky controller aside it was just one HELL of a deal
I took extra care when I took it out of the box, I did that once before and it scared me for life (dropped my Snes when taking it out of the package! was just WAY to excited)
My Nephew plays, but on PC.. he does have it on Xbox also but only plays it when some of his other buddies do. Looking forward to it anyway.
If Microsoft could match steam prices in all digital world and give you pc the version aswell I would be down for all digital future.
Honestly, I would rather them expand game pass than get steam sales just because with GP I don't need to spend anything on it other than $10/month (or free with my points), then if I like the game I get it for 20% off. That to me personally and my situation is just a better overall deal.

Yup, that may be a gold member thing, not too sure, but if you like the game and you want to keep it then you get 20% off. Pretty sweet deal.

I don't even want to think how silly a logan paul game would be... hope the kids don't find out he has a game lol.

Kind of reminds me of when you see a little Chihuahua pestering a much bigger dog as its laying down resting and the larger dog has enough and nips back.

I agree, Steam is what made me love all digital on PC... and that model would make me get over my hangups for console. To be honest with all the Flash deals on PSN I have been mostly digital this gen out of the 138 games I have 18 of them right now are physical copies that I currently in my library.
I like game pass but I wish it was guaranteed for games to stay.
The point of GP is the rotating library of games to play which I assume helps them keep the price down significantly. They do have a section in the XBL store which tells you which games are about to be removed and under the 20% off sale thing it says when that particular game will be removed (20% off until 06-01-18, for example, implying the game will be removed June 1st).
GS will probably start to offer their own version of game pass within the next 5 years. I'm almost willing to bet on that.
Yeah, doing that with physical media though I think is against the law since you have to buy special rental versions of the game. At least that's how movies worked, they cost the company something like $60/copy. GS was trying to do it with used media and, if games work like movies do, then you can't do that.
sweet wwe 2k17 has been added to gamepass time to sign up :)

Not too sure about that one. I always just use the "xbox" button for all my quick menu stuff.
Also remember that the console won't play games at 4k or HDR by default, you have to enable them in the settings menu.
PUBG's graphics are definitely not its strong point. Its got like PS2 graphics regardless of what console you're playing it on. If you want a good graphical showcase then look more in the direction of Forza 7 and Gears 4. Both had monster texture packs though. I think Forza 7 ends up as like 95gb and GoW4 a little over 100gb.
