Surge came out today. so far not bad. very nioh and bloodborn feel as in fast combat. switching limbs takes some getting used to.

Phantom Dust remaster is supposed to be out today for free.

injustice came out today as well. grabbed that on my ps4 though,

i wasnt gonna sign up for game pass until after i played kingdom come, as i think thats about to take over the next month of my life, but for 5 bucks since apparently i qualified the kids will use it and i may check out a couple things.. microsoft has hit a grand slam with this, the breadth of what you get with this is astounding, there a ton of quality titles, and its not streaming you get to download it, and at half the price, if sony had something like this at 10 bucks id be on it in a second as well, but 20 and streaming no thanks. i can see the kids and i using the crap out of gamepass.

Game Pass is fantastic, much better than I thought it would be. They advertise it as 100+ games available, but really that's selling themselves short as there are nearly 200 to chose from. There are some very quality titles on there as well that I've nearly purchased on numerous occasions but didn't because of my growing backlog, but having them on game pass makes me want to play though games more than if I had the game just sitting on my shelf.

absolutely, I hope this gets adopted as sony would likely follow suit at some point. games I wouldn't have bought because I felt like I just wouldn't play enough, nba playgrounds for example, I will give a go on this. there are several good fighting games, there are rpgs, there is a great variety, and sea of thieves day one and state of decay 2? (crackdown 3 might even release someday) and a discount If you do wanna buy? if it was 20 I might pause but for this price this is crazy, imagine if they really did buy ea and rolled ea access into this..

I like using it mostly for the smaller games that I wanted to play but didn't want to drop $15, especially when they're shorter 1-3 hour long games. This is perfect for those types of games where I can download them, finish them, then move tot he next one. To this day I've not spent $.01 on game pass and I'm subbed up through June and I have 3 years of Xbox live, which I already am subbed up for the next 3 years. Essentially, I bought my Xbox and I get to play a bunch of games for 100% no cost to me whatsoever....plus I get 4 games/month via GwG, so the Xbox is pretty much raining games on me at the moment.

so I got about 3.5 hours in on KCD, but the game is only just about to start proper seems like, its still teaching me to do things, there is a lot to learn. the codex is full of super interesting facts and info about life at that time, which is extremely disgusting and its easy to see why disease was so rampant and people didn't live long. between human waste everywhere.. EVERYWHERE.. and no means of preserving food or filtering water its easy to see why things like the bubonic plague could spread so quickly and wipe out so many people.

I saw mention on a youtube review that you can throw horse crap at people..this hasn't opened up yet if its true, but when it does... omg. my enemies need to be afraid.

a few things ive noticed

its pretty enough, its no witcher/horizon (by any stretch really) but the game is generally pretty enough for this kind of thing, but most games are now. the grass and trees look nice but when you get near a bush they are clearly flat textures and look pretty last gen.
the character models are just alright, not witcher level (not even close actually), and the lip synch doenst always match up
combat definitely is going to have a learning curve, though I haven't fought anything except one tutorial so far
main quests will wait, but side quests may be timed. need to brew a potion or get something to heal a hurt friend? take too long and they will die, you cant rabbit trail on seven other quests and just bring it whenever.
there seems to be more than one way to solve many things, if your speech skill is high enough maybe you can talk someone out of what you need, if not you may have to steal it, or just steal it, or whatever
what you are wearing and how clean you are or aren't affects people around you, If you are talking to nobles and look like a crap shoveler, they will not think anything of you and you wont get far.
likewise if you act conspicuously, or wear your night gear/dark sneaking clothes during the day your conspicuousness stat rises.
food in your inventory spoils, remember the dragonborn carrying seven cheese wheels or a piece of meat for 7 months and then eating it with no ill effects? well henry cant do that, lol. apples last longer than roast duck, but you have to eat lots of them to fill your nourishment stat, but overeating makes you slower and sluggish, and slows your reactions. not sleeping enough is the same, he has to eat and sleep like a normal person.
the food will slowly spoil in your inventory indicated by a number of the items overall health just like your weapons, eat spoiled food, risk food poisoning and death if you cant get an antidote potion.
if you don't eat your stamina depletes a lot. you are a normal person after all.
you cant just run up in peoples houses and take everything (well, if they are in it), it will warn you that you are in a private area and the npc will ask you to leave, stay too long or do anything bad and they call the guards.
you have one autosave slot for when you sleep, and you can have three when you drink a saviours schnapps away from bed. save scumming could be possible in certain situations but you cant save every ten minutes.
you cant heal In battle, remember the dragonborn pausing and eating those 7 cheese wheels, well henry cant do that either lol.
If you don't bandage your wounds you will bleed out and die, and youll need to sleep and rest to heal up from more than scratches and mild cuts. apparently you can surrender in a battle or duel you are losing but I haven't had a chance to test it.
horses have stats too and different ones are better than others at some things.
horses will follow the path you on by themselves when cantering, you have to steer at gallop.
you can haggle with merchants and various factors influence that.
if you are covered in blood people will react or avoid you, youll have to rinse off at a trough or get a bath.
controls are not remappable and I wish they were, but im adjusting quickly, x is jump/vault over things and that feels weird, as does b to sprint. id like to remap this to a Bethesda game control style as that's definitely what it feels the most like, but its not bad after a bit I guess.
it feels "fast". moving at a jog feels faster than elder scrolls or fallout, like the sticks are really sensitive.

only about 3 hours in and still learning, this is gonna be a long game but I cant wait to do it, it hasn't "opened" up yet, im still in the beginning/tutorial/fairly linear learn the game part but its already pretty interesting to me. I don't feel like its going to be witcher/mass effect status but I think its gonna be pretty cool.

Is there enough interest yet in the game to start its own topic? there is a curve and there are tons and tons of stats and perks and a topic may be helpful?

There are a handful of games rumored to be leaving Gamepass next month so make sure to play them before they leave! Nothing of note, but there are a couple that are easier on the achievements if that adds any motivation for you. New adds have not been announced, that will probably be this week.

Games removed:

CAPCOM Arcade Cabinet
D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die
Dark Void
FLOCK!
Iron Brigade
Joe Danger 2: The Movie
Monday Night Combat
N+
SEGA Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage
SEGA Vintage Collection: Monster World
Strider
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

Out of those ones, I think the only easy 1000% achievements are supposed to be D4 (easy but time consuming), Virtual Fighter 5, and Streets of Rage. Iron Brigade isn't too bad but you need a good online team and there is DLC which prevents 100% unless you buy and complete it, and Dark Void is supposed to be fairly easy but pretty time consuming and its rumored to have a glitch that prevents progress after a certain point if playing it on gamepass.

Monday Night Combat doesn't look too bad either achievement wise but the game is most likely dead online. I banged out Streets of Rage and Virtua Fighter over the long weekend. Virtua Fighter was kind of a disappointment, not really all that good. Streets of Rage is solid though.

I ran through SoR Sunday morning, really enjoyed SoR 2, the other 2 titles were kind of meh. Virtual Fighter 5 was easy but I still haven't gotten the 2 online achievements. Monday Night Combat looks like its listed at 1-12 hours depending on how online matches go, but that's a lot of work for 200 achievement points.

Is it? That's awesome. I think I pad a couple $$ for it. Still money well spent. I would buy a sequel in a heart beat as long as it stuck to the formula of the first game.

What kinda of sales is Live running right now? I missed out on Horizon 3... I just don't know I hated the first but I really want some eye candy. Also kinda tempted to get Over Watch .. it's in my shopping cart for my PS4, just not sure from what I here there is little difference between it on the Pro or OneX. On one hand I give the Xbox controller a slight edge in FPS on the other more people play it on the PS4 and I have Friends that do also... Argh. MS needs to work on there app and take a page from Sony IMO, it really lacks.

Heres a list of all their sales this week:

https://www.xboxachievements.com/news/news-29215-T...

Also, Forza Horizon 3 + Hotwheels DLC bundle is only like $26 right now through CDKeys

https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games/forza-horiz...

I didn't care for Horizon 1 or 2 all that much, but Playground games killed it with FH3, it a HUGE improvement on the other two titles.

Forza Horizon 3 is really quite good (I do have plenty of complaints with it though), but the Hot Wheels DLC is perhaps the most fun I've had in any driving game in a decade. Absolutely love it.

My biggest issues with FH3 is that you can beat an event and it still shows up as "new" on the map. You go there and can't tell at all what is actually new...a new race layout?, a new 1-on-1 challenge?, something else? There is no tag or mark on completed items within each map point...and it's constantly infuriating to me.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to filter those out. I went and did all the championship events from one side of the map to the other with out doing any 1-on-1 races or anything else. I knew exactly which type of event I was going to do upon driving to any specific challenge.

No filters for it. If you play it continually it's easier to know what you already did. But step away for a few months and almost everything shows "new" which it really isn't.

Yep, you know how many games I purchased because of the app? I would say easily 25-30%.. basically the flash sales so many times I almost missed games and then whip out the app and bam a sale that I did not miss.

Never understood complaints with the Xbox app. Every time I sign in I have a banner right on the side of my last played game that has all of the sales. Impossible to miss and you don't even need to leave the start up screen. The PS4 dashboard is an abomination in comparison.

After playing FH3 for a while now, it really is very different vs. FH2. FH2's road trips got old after a while, especially after you became the 'Horizon Champ' twice, but it slowed and spread out the game. FH3 after ~8+ hours feels like its got ADD. There are SO MANY things to do in the game, the map is just covered and you're prompted with Rivals and Barnfinds and this and that a LOT. The driving is fun as expected, but for me the music doesn't resonate as well and I rarely go on those lovely long drives in FH3 like I was maybe forced to too much in 2, but strangely I miss that some.

The 'new' flag on events is kind of annoying as I beat a championship race, saw it was new, opened and beat an exhibition race and it was still new - maybe you HAVE to create a blueprint there? But with all the things to do the game almost feels pushy for me right now (I just unlocked my final festival spot, but have 1 maxed out already). I will keep playing as both DLC are fun and the game is great overall, but it at least to me feels significantly different from FH2, even though the core gameplay is unchanged.

Its really easy to see the sales on the Xbox One's home screen. Just press the Xbox button then scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says "Sales", then it brings you to a page that has all their sales listed and broken down into lists by developer, genera, etc......

I hated that about FH2 as well. You would do like 5 races then they would make you do a road trip to chose your next destination followed by another road trip to the next area where you wanted to race flowed by another road trip to get there. To me, it just felt like I spent more time driving from objective to objective than I did actually racing, and I didn't like it. In FH3 I can do whatever I wanted to whenever I wanted to. I didn't really find it too distracting to have so many options available around me at all times either, I found it refreshing to have the choice to do any number of different races so close to where I was at any given time. If I got bored with doing championship races then I could do a rival race or a 1-on-1. If I got tired of racing then I could try for 3 stars on speed traps or stunts. If I got tired of those then I could just cruse around looking for bonus boards in strange locations. I found that in FH2 I didn't really like exploring as much as I do in FH3 and I think that's because FH3 has a much more diverse set of environments to explore, from beaches, forests, cities, mountains, to deserts. FH2 was kind of just the same environment spread out.

I think there are instances where when you beat a specific race then you unlock a new version of it at the same location. Not all races are available at once. The further you progress then the more races you will unlock.

Think I hate about the Xbox dashboard is it is way to cluttered. the Ps4's is very simplistic. I have my games sorted into genres and it's just so damn simple and clean. Not to mention I and not hit with adds all the bloody time. I am constantly seeing one add I cannot get rid off for Sea of Thieves... Not to mention it's advertising Game Pass (wich I have) and Live (again, already have). Never liked the Xbox UI and the app it self ever since it's redesign has been absolutely a breeze.

The store on the Xbox is getting better, still has away to go but aleast I am seeing improvement.

I think it comes down to whichever you use more is the one you're going to find easier to use. If I jumped into the PS4 UI I would more than likely be lost AF, but I can navigate around the X1 UI without issue and that's just because I'm familiar with where everything is. I just have my games listed from largest file size to smallest and to have it show me results from both my internal and external HDDs and I don't have an issue navigating through my collection of 104 stored games. Adds don't bother me either as they're always small and off to the side. I can't honestly tell you what he last add I saw was because I just don't pay attention to them. I see some adds on my X1S that I use as my media center, but that's because its got her profile loaded as the default which is using all my account benefits, so I do see an add to subscribe to gold on the homepage when I turn it on.

I can't speak for the app though as I've never once used it.

I get super lost in the Xbox One UI. Every change seems to make it worse to me. XMB's pretty straightforward, though some work on the Settings and viewing downloads would be welcome.

I like the Sony store better, too... mostly. PS3 I have an issue where moving around too fast actually crashes the app, which isn't very good.

Sadly, I have to agree about the XB1 UI being too cluttered still, mainly on the dashboard. They did a good job in recent system updates to clean it up a bit like with the XMB, but it's still messy in comparison to the PS4 or even the Switch's clean cut interface. I can't even tell sometimes if I'm signed in on Xbox Live unless I switch to the Store tab and it let's me see the items for sale. I always hope with a future update that they continue to keep cleaning up the dashboard to make it more accessible and more organized.

Yeah I can see it ultimately as an advantage to stay in 1 area and do more all at once, it's just clearly a different feel. FH2 felt more like an never ending roadtrip, sort of like you described, FH3 is more a massive collection of stuff to do. I have found that I end up staying in 1 region more b/c there's more to do, vs. partially being forced to go elsewhere like FH2 did. I also agree that 3 feels more diverse vs. 2 and having the desert and beach and forest are all nice. It really is a great game, no doubts there. I think once I get deeper into it I'll enjoy it more, especially since I was sort of comparing the effective 'end game' of 2 vs. only a fraction of the way into 3.

I guess it almost feels like an overload of things to do, which ultimately is a great thing, but can be a little overwhelming and frustrating when you pick a random race event to try, but don't yet have a vehicle to race with... so you need to pick another or just buy one on the spot, or head back to a hub, pick one and customize it a little... then try to remember what race you bought it for and return. I guess I just get the sense that the game is so packed with stuff it's harder to focus on beating championships or taking a set path through the game. But 2 had almost too much of the opposite issue, it forced the roadtrip in your face so much you got annoyed that you couldn't stay in 1 region and knock out 3, 4, 10 series - granted that would get boring as most regions really only had like 5-8 racetracks and each series was at least 3-4 races, so you ended up repeating courses a LOT. I got to nearly level 200 and beat over 50 series in 2 before I basically got bored. It does seem like 3 has a LOT more tracks and variety, such that I don't expect to get bored any time soon.

my first game pass game that ive given a try thanks to game pass that i didn't want to buy because i knew i wouldn't play it much is NBA Playgrounds. i was hoping for NBA Jam TE basically but shiny current gen polish, but i don't think this is gonna do it for me, i don't like the idea of spending time on players i don't care about just to MAYBE get some that i do, and the controls feel funny, ive yet to hit a single shot in three games and my guys miss 9 of 10 dunks and layups before i found the shot meter setting i had somehow turned that off.
it could be alright for times when i only have a few minutes to sit and play and dont have time to fire up whatever rpg im working on, if i could have Iverson or magic or some of the older players i care a little more about. it also feels like the computer cheats when it wants to the way nba jam did so there is that comparison lol

I'm not digging playgrounds either I hate that shots depend on where you stop the bar. I also hate that you have to unlock teams let me just be the bulls! I did get Wwe 2k17 from gamepass and it's alright I like universe mode but I feel like they pull features every year :(

You can see if you're logged on by looking at the top left corner of the screen while on the home page. Your profile name flashes on and off every few seconds. If you're not logged in it will say something along the lines of "Press "X" to Log On".

Ah okay. I'll look for that sign in the upper left corner then next time I boot up. Thanks for the tip. Sometimes while I am on the home page it will say connect to Xbox Live, but that is at the bottom of the page and I have to scroll down to notice it. I notice this happens to me more so at times if I have my power settings saved to "Instant On" as opposed to "Power Saver" mode.
