I seem to recall there being a discussion thread for New Leaf, so thought I'd make one for New Horizons. This will actually be my first Animal Crossing game, and I also have the special edition Switch preordered. Amazon says it will be here next Tuesday.
DragonmasterDX: Isle Draco
SilverOwl: Cabal Isle
Nick: Sandy Cove
Sun: Del Sol
Yeah, I was ok with leaving it the way it was. The only thing I did was to open a path to the beach where the fox appears. For nothing, because I never saw him again, and I stopped playing like a week after that.

I do it every day. I've gotten the Nook Inc. poster, doorplate, and the Tom Nook photo so far. I hope they add more items in the future.
Redd's an even trickier bastard than ever before. In the past, he always had one legit item and the rest were counterfeit. That's not always the case anymore! I was there today and noticed that all four items were fake. After doing a little research, someone determined the following:
10% - 1 fake, 3 real
30% - 2 fake, 2 real
50% - 3 fake, 1 real
10% - 4 fake, 0 real
I've had 4 fakes many times. In fact the first time Redd visited my island it was 4 fakes. I don't recall ever getting 3 real, though I've had 2 a few times.
Animal Crossing, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Meinkraft are all chore games.
How do I tell if a piece of art is fake or not? I have only always picked fake stuff

Same here. That's the best place to go.

Those are all literal chores though, that's not the way I was using the word. What I clearly meant was that it's going to be a frustrating pain-in-the-butt to un-do all of the decorating I've done so far in order to take advantage of terraforming. None of the daily chores are like that. They're actually fun/relaxing to do, and it doesn't make anything else in the game harder if you do them.
Someone pointed out that in one of the screenshots Nintendo posted to the site detailing the new update, the character is standing in front of a house that does not match the houses of any animal currently in the game.
Capcom is doing some kind of digital event for Monster Hunter: Rise tomorrow, so people are hoping this house could tie into Felyne (the cat from Monster Hunter that was added to ACNL's big amiibo update) coming to ACNH .image
What is that flag pole with wind socks?
> What is that flag pole with wind socks?
It's something they do in Japan to celebrate "boys day" on May 5th. ACNL had that item also, but you had to visit a Japanese town to get it, same for that newspaper hat he's wearing in the pic.

So is it exclusive to Japan in NH?

It's unlikely. So far they've been making all items available for all regions, you just have to order them through the NookLink app on your character's in-game phone.
There will be shooting stars in my town tonight. I'll post a code here this evening for anyone who wants to visit.
Gate is open. Dodo code 0QPF8. Help yourself to any of the recipes in front of my daughter's house. Be sure to check out my house by jumping in the warp pipe.
Closing the gate for now. May reopen later.
I like using them, but if you have more than two, the pipes whatever pipe you emerge from will be determined randomly.
I wish you could customize them. Have red pipes that only lead to red pipes, yellow pipes to yellow pipes, etc. That would be cool.

I still play EVERY SINGLE DAY
I guess that's why I always kept plucked flowers in my inventory. Because besides making DIYs and making your island pretty, why do you need so many you need to store them?

Being new to the game, I'm still not sure how my island is going to look when I'm done, so I can't say for sure now which flower types/colors I'll need, and how many of each. I don't want to mess around with growing new flowers every time a new design requires it, I'd rather just grow everything and have it available as needed.
I have Judy and Ankha as well. Let's see...Marshall, Sherb, Whitney, Shari and Skye. Don't remember the other three lol.
I have Tabby, Drago, Mint, Twiggy, Ribbot, Claudia, Rilla, Lucy, Cookie and Nibbles (listed in order of how long they've been on my island).
I'm gonna force Rilla to move out soon (another animal sold me an electronics kit and immediately after that conversation ended Rilla came over asking if she can have it, I accidentally said yes and she put it on display in her house and it looks out of place among the Hello Kitty items she has, so now I'm just gonna kick her ass out when I get the chance) and I'm working on getting Lucy's, Cookie's and Nibbles' photos and when I do they will each be getting kicked out afterwards too.
I used to have Carrie! Ankha just moved out after having her for sooooo long!! Now I have:
Yeah, Octavian is still on my island too. I've never gotten a single villager photo. Just haven't really looked into how to get them.

If you talk to them enough and give them gifts (I usually wrap up assessed fossils and give those because they won't display them in their house) and do errands for them, once in a while they will give you their photo in return instead of the usual random clothing.
