Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

Hey, here's a question someone might be able to help with. We have a PC and an Xbox One X, my profile has Game Pass Ultimate, my sons profile is a sub account but has the same access to all of the games that I have through Game Pass of course. We own Marvel Avengers on Xbox (through a digital copy), and I installed it on my PC through Game Pass. When my son gets on his profile on Xbox, and I get on my profile on PC, it boots him off and says "(main account) is playing this on another device", then if he tries to sign back in on his profile on Xbox, and start the game, it boots me off on the PC, and vice versa. It doesn't let me play on my Microsoft Profile on PC, and him on his profile on Xbox at the same time. Does he need his own Xbox Live account or something? I assumed since we own it on Xbox digitally, it wouldn't be a Game Pass problem.

Edit: Oh, probably can't play PC + Xbox, that must be it?

Double edit: Nope, according to Google i should be able to play on a PC and one of us on the Xbox together.

I think you're caught up in the middle of the "home console" quandary. I don't how this works with PC + Xbox, but when my son and I need to play something together (on 2 Xboxes), what you're describing caused us all kinds of problems until I did this:

1 - On my son's X1X I have both of our Xbox accounts on it. The key piece to allow the account owner's content to be used by other profiles is to set this device as the "home/primary console". Since it's primary, and my account is on it, any other accounts can access/use GP, Xbox Live, and games that I own. My account should not be actively logged in here.

2 - On my XSX I have just my account but since it's me I can use and play all my stuff like normal. This is not the "home console" even though it's our main gaming unit. So by default my auto-downloads from the Xbox store get sent to his X1X. That's the only real downside.

I forget where you set this...I think on the Xbox itself or else somewhere in https://account.microsoft.com/devices .

Hmmm appreciate the info. The Xbox is setup with me as the primary account and it should be the Home Console as we just got a PC this past summer, but i'll try playing around with that at home and see if i can resolve it. We've played other games together so I didn't think it was going to be too difficult, it's the first time we've had that issue that i can recall.

So does the Xbox Series X have a thing where it can tie a user profile to a controller. So if someone turns on their controller it auto switches to their profile? I'm about to add my Dad to my new xbox series x.

I decided to play through all the campaigns before Infinite (I've only played the Halo 2 campaign). I've heard I may be lost, otherwise.

Also...best game(s) on GamePass? I find myself playing Monster Train always.

That's quite an undertaking to play them all and may burn you out. You could just watch some recap videos? That's what I did, hell if I remember most of the story.

Good luck, might be a blast to do them all back to back!

If I could only recommend one game on Game Pass, it would probably be A Plague Tale Innocence. It's really unique and surprisingly well done. If you don't mind walking sims, What Remains of Edith Finch is fantastic as well. (It's dark and stays with you.)

Just looked up on Howlongtobeat and it says 57 hours ... that is quite a bit longer than I expected lol. We'll see, but I will probably go with your recap method.

I didn't care for Plague Tale, but can see how others might. What Remains of Edith Finch was enjoyable. I'm looking forward to playing Record of Lodoss War that recently came. But as for more suggestions, would want to know preferred genres before suggesting too much. I mean Horizon 5 and Dirt 5 are great, but you'd want to at least like racing games before bothering to try them.

I don't know about best games, but here are some that I recommend:

- Slay the Spire (you'll probably enjoy this if you like Monster Train)
- Hades (probably the best rouge lite I've played)
- Hollow Knight (great but tough metroidvania)
- Superhot: Mind Control Delete
- Tetris Effect (play with good headphones or sound system)
- Superliminal (really interesting take on a puzzler)
- New Super Lucky's Tales (great little platformer)

Also, with EA Play

- Titanfall 2
- Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
- Unravel & Unravel Two

If you've got some friends to play with:

- Sea of Thieves (it's just fun to be a pirate on the open seas and the Pirate's Life quest line is great)

Thank you for the suggestions! Slay the Spire is one of my favorite games of all time, and I love Hades (played both of these on Nintendo Switch )

Hollow Knight is a bit too tough for my taste, but I do like metroidvania games. Looking forward to playing Ori.

The Titanfall campaign was terrific, and Fallen Order is great.

I'll have to check out some of the others!

I've tried out some Horizon 5, and the open-world gameplay is really neat! I enjoy playing it here and there. I'm also intrigued by Record of the Lodoss War; let me know what you think when you get around to it!

Favorite genres: RPG, rogue-lite, board game

most of the data is downloaded. It's smart delivery. So whatever system you have, it just smartly installs the highest end version. No need to use ur brain.

That's pretty crapty for people with bad internet, so it's just a license and checks what system you have, then downloads based on your system.

A lot of data is copied from the disc in my experience.

And to be fair, most high profile games have multi gigabyte day 1 patches nowadays anyway, whether it's Xbox or Playstation.

From what I understand. Is if the Xbox case says Xbox One/Series X, then it's the Xbox one version on disc and u download the Series X version. But if the case only says Series X on it, then it's that version on the disc

I just think Microsoft was ahead of the times during the Xbox one launch. They knew that a streaming and always online world was coming. They were just a little early to the party. Imo digital is the way everything will end up. Movies, tv,music are all basically only streaming or downloads nowadays. Plus all digital will help the earth. Look at how much waste goes into manufacturing the cases, disc, artwork, the pollution that accures before, during and after the processes that happens to get that physical game or movie into ur home. Digital is just so easy. As long as Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony figure out a way to guarantee that people will never lose access to ur digital library. I gotta stop buying games from the eShop, bc I don't trust Nintendo enough to let me keep access to my games for many years. They like to make people keep rebuying the same games every generation or two. I have more trust in Microsoft at this point over any other company to do what they can to let me keep access to my purchased games forever. Not sure about Sony yet, depends on if the next playstation will be backwards compatible.

Tldr
Xbox was ahead of the times at xbone launch. Digital is the future and everyone will be better off when all the big companies figure out a way to always keep access to digital games.

I'm surprised nobody has posted the news today about Ubisoft Plus coming to Game Pass. Another $15 per month is a big pill to swallow, but it might be worth it for a few months. I'm hoping some other games come to Game Pass without requiring Ubisoft Plus like the new Rainbow Six coming day 1.

They said it's coming to game pass but with a separate subscription fee. The way I understand it is you need game pass to have access to it. I could be completely wrong. Either way, it's a nice service to have on Xbox, especially for Series S people (I just bought one on here). I don't think they officially announced the price, but I'm guessing it will be $15/month.

Kinda greedy of Ubi to do that when EA Play games are at no additional fee if you have Game Pass Ultimate. A bit scummy to me but then again so is that entire company.

Agreed. Everyone is looking to get in on the subscription model. It is pretty scummy, especially considering EA Play is free. If Ubisoft Plus does well, EA is going to be looking for their extra taste soon.
