Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

14-Jan(#241)Yeah the Gunk was pretty good. Def a game pass game tho. I couldn't see spending full price on it.
Kommie

15-Jan(#246)I still feel like them not having co-op at launch is gonna set a precedent of releasing games half-finished/missing features and say "Hey, no one will actually buy it, they'll just GamePass it" so it'll just become normalized to release the full features later.
Kommie

15-Jan(#248)Series S is a waste of money. Especially since they're bound to discontinue it from developers not being able to get stuff to work on it once they eventually release an actual current-gen only game.

15-Jan(#250)Imagine Starfield on XsS looks like Cyberpunk did on base consoles.... What's the point?
Kommie

15-Jan(#252)They'll just rush it out, but like all Bethesda games, it won't really be playable for over a year.

16-Jan(#255)I recently got a Series S, and it has exceeded my expectations. With the other consoles, I didn't need a disc drive, and the upscaling to 4K looks just as good as PS5. The system runs smooth with quick resume. I have no complaints. This could because I've skipped several Xbox generations, but I'm overwhelmed with good games to play on GamePass.

16-Jan(#257)I'm about quick resume now too. It's great for older BC games too. Been using it a lot replaying the FEAR games.

16-Jan(#258)Glad y'all are enjoying your Series S. I really enjoyed mine. I think people will get really spoiled with quick resume.

19-Jan(#263)@Archer that's one opinion. On the other hand, MS & Activision/Blizzard could have good faith agreements in place that will allow them to introduce Activision/Blizzard owned titles to GP. I'm sure there are teams of people reading through contracts on already released titles that were available on any gen Xbox and PC to see what can be made available with little to no financial obligations to third parties. I suspect that there will be an announcement by June on titles that would be available on GamePass. It's possible that they also announce a slight increase in price on the subscription if they don't feel that the add-on/microtransaction revenue is enough to keep the margins where they want them.

19-Jan(#264)It's about a year out but based on comments it sure sounds like COD is going to hit GP. The question is more about when the Activision/Blizzard titles will no longer be available on PS5.
Sony/Nintendo make their money off selling software, MS is betting big on a new approach: the subscription model. I don't know how they make that work but they now have 25M subscribers. Ignoring that people use codes and exploits to get more/free time, thats roughly 25M x $10 a month = $250M a month. Or $3B a year.
I for one won't have any issue at all paying $20-$25 a month for GP if the quality and volume of titles increases like it will with Bethesda and Activision/Blizzard. I'm paying about that for Netflix and Hulu each, and GP is saving me a helluva lot more money than those other services.

19-Jan(#265)Hey Microsoftivision! Bring back Tenchu.

19-Jan(#266)Everyone is now chasing the reoccurring revenue model as it's clearly working with our modern age. Very few companies aren't actively trying to build this model. Microsoft is clearly leading the pack here on the gaming front, and I'm amazed the other two haven't caught up yet. Xbox ranks 3rd for me of the three systems; however, I think they have the better business model and future with what they're doing. Good chance Sony will catch up and as usual, Nintendo won't do anything --- and they have one of the best possible libraries to truly capture market share on this.
Also, I can't see a world in which MSFT turns COD into an exclusive game, there's too big of a market out there. By going exclusive, forcing others to buy Microsoft platforms, they may push those customers away. Still, on the same hand, it truly could attract them and get them to buy into their ecosystem. Random example that comes to mind is Stern going to Sirius. Massive explosion in subscribers as people will follow the content.
This is a big move, super curious to see how it plays out.

19-Jan(#268)I can see them saying some corpo nonsense like "Activision games will be available on all platforms where Game Pass is accessible". Forcing Sony to become reluctant to have the Game Pass app incorporated onto the PS Store.

I agree. I think this is what they've been pushing for. I think the next move is lay it out and create the PS app then have talks- no go - make it public that it exists. That's putting the ball in Sony's court. So much still to hash out. I'll be honest- if an app with Xbox games existed with trophy support- huge- I'm in 100% They need to make it happen.

19-Jan(#270)I mean you can play Game Pass pretty much anywhere now with cloud gaming. On phones. On tablets. Heck even in Teslas
Bleed_DukeBlue

20-Jan(#272)I'm all for Microsoft doing better so there's more competition in the marketplace, but buying up existing publishers with long-running titles and making them exclusive is the worst. First Starfield (which I had been looking forward to for some time now) and now probably both Elder Scrolls VI and Diablo IV (from two of my favorite franchises). Don't get me wrong. I'm still going to play them. I'm just annoyed that I have to play them on a platform I prefer less when they would have otherwise been multi-platform titles. At least Game Pass takes some of the sting out of it.

The $200 one? Thing looks sexy, but man $200 for a controller

As an "older" psx guy- lol @ crash and Spyro. I wanted FFVII and SotN. Not to be a douche- I am- but take that crap and go.

23-Jan(#281)Sounds like you're not a fan of platformers that might be geared towards a broader audience @feeb. That's fine. There's a ton of people that are fans and they wouldn't consider either of these series "crap".
