Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

Sounds like you're not a fan of platformers that might be geared towards a broader audience @feeb. That's fine. There's a ton of people that are fans and they wouldn't consider either of these series "crap".

So this is just a general Halo question....

I loved playing the original Halo (or Halo 2) back in high school, but literally only ever played multiplayer.

My question is, are the actual stories in the Halo games worth going back and playing the single player campaigns for? Or, what is the most story-driven Halo game that I should check out?

I here the single player story is pretty good in infinite.. the multiplayer however has been turning some people off. I fee Halo fanatic friends are done with multi right now until it's fixed. Hackers are ruining the game and the bugs/glitches are not helping mutch. I am still trying to work through Halo 2 and up's story before I dig into infinite. Can't wait thoug, even though I am forcing myself to.

I've struggled with all of the stories in the Halo campaigns. I'm into it for a bit and then lose the plot at some point and never fully get back on track. You're always searching and chasing after someone or something. So to me, no, it's not worth playing the campaigns for some ultra-rewarding story line. I'd prob just recommend some youtube recap. Gameplay-wise they're fun and worth your time, but I personally enjoyed Infinite probably the most. The grapple really made it enjoyable.

I typically don't care about the story in most video games. But I've always enjoyed the story in Halo campaigns. They actually keep me interested all the way through, and don't come off corny or lame at all.

Works for me. We've got Wonderlands coming in March and we'll be playing that for a while co-op. By the time we're done with that -- maybe Halo co-op will be ready...

(Or, maybe we'll get lucky and get Borderlands 4 sooner instead of later!) A man can dream!

I started up The Medium last night b/c I don't want to miss out on it and it's not overly long at around 8+ hrs. Was alright across my 3 hr session, but it's pretty slow paced.

The Falconeer is cool but man do I struggle with the combat. I think it's mostly camera related but I'm terrible at it.

Don't bother with The Medium. There's nothing special or unique there (even the 2-screen thing) and it's a slog even when trying to speed walk-very-very-slowly though it.

These limited game companies have shown you can take money for a game and deliver it much later- VG consumers have become so lackadaisical- easy sell. They just shrug it off and defend the silly crap. Preorders for decades show they will too. Why not just take their money and use it to actually make the game... that they thought they were buying.

I think they were told to pivot more to the LIVE SERVICE portion of Halo to not leave enough time for coop. Would make sense in this current climate. Sad but true.

To be fair, they haven't officially delayed anything with this announcement other than the announcement that they were planning on sharing about when season 2 and 3 would be releasing. 343 knows that the money and replay value is in the PVP, so they are focusing on that. I get it. I'd prefer the campaign co-op first, but I get why that's not going to happen.
